The sad thing is that this at 52:40 is the very last glimpse of the _real_ Error that we ever get to see. He basically snapped at that moment and became the persona we all know (and love) because his sanity finally spilled over from the confusion, distress, fear and pain. Previously, when interacting with Ghost!Toriel and Ghost!Sans, he seemed conflicted as if split between two sides of himself. The error/glitch side, and the real, original Sans/Geno!Sans.

The player may choose a pacifist route, however, there will be a timeline where the player chose a mixed route and a timeline for genocide. It’s the same with the characters within the AUs. So, yes, a timeline will be created where he didn’t kill himself. Also, it’s impossible, there are infinite timelines and AUs, Error wouldn’t be able to kill himself.

According to the sans wiki, Error!Sans is actually a manifestation of Aftertale!Sans. When After stepped outside of his save button (which is SUPPOSED to kill him), nothing happened.
