"The Kangaroos are a dining and drinking club reserved exclusively for college sportsmen. They have an alarming initiation ceremony and a penchant for very silly games. Among their number are John Downs and Rupert Sanders , who both have a fighting chance of getting a rugby Blue - and glory on the field at Twickenham. But 'Big John', a tall and hefty prop forward, has a fundamental problem: the difficulty of reconciling the need for aggression on the field with his commitment to Christianity.
