Kalopsia (The name of the second song) is the delusion in which things appear more beautiful than they are. You can see the character all prancing about and carefree, feeling no real consequence to what they do. It is a little sad, but the character is very much out of touch with reality.

Cast off like a stone Feelings, raw and exposed when I'm out of control Pieces were stolen from me But dare I say, given away Watching the water give in As I go down the drain I appear missing now I go missing, No longer exist One day I hope I'm someone you'd met Shock me awake Tear me apart Pinned like a note in a hospital gown Deeper I sleep Further down A rabbit hole never to be found It's only falling in love Because you hit the ground I never lie To myself Tonight. *The way I see it is like this: This video represents human emotions The first guy obviously had something traumatic happen in his life. He doesnt even care about what's going on, and he gets dragged to hell. He starts to change and wake up. He puts on a happy smile for everyone around him, but underneath that he is a dark mess. He finally snaps. He doesnt care anymore, but this time he still has some feelings. He doesnt give a shit about anyone else, and he spits in life's face. After a while, he feels like he is missing something. Like there is more out there to conquer. He doesnt just spit in life's face, he burns with a fiery vengeance, and he will stop at nothing (even taking his own life) for that rush. Then, something beyond him happens. A major event in his life, so strong that all of his true colors are shown at once. They are all destroyed, sending him back to that shambled, careless body he was before. Being dragged to hell without a care in the world.*

I think it's the stages of grief overlane with the hell on Earth and it's consequence, Detachment, Denial & Isolation, Anger, Bargaining(missed opportunity/adventure), Acceptance(absorption of the evils) In the end the stages of grief within the human condition fuse and blow up like an atomic bomb. Which may in eventuallity become reality, all our ill wills responding to grief someday may end us all.

EVERYONE! The badass guy in Keep Your Eyes Peeled is Josh himself! 1.) The guy that kills everyone is obviously Death and at the start of KYEP the badass guy punches him in the face. This represents Josh cheating death with his KNEE OPERATION. Which leads onto my second point... 2.) At 5:11 you can clearly see the guy is wearing a LEG BRACE which backs up my first point quite nicely. The first ones famine. Stranded in a desert, scavenging animals everywhere and the guy himself "hungers" to reach the city/sun. The second one is death. Wearing a reapers guise, bringing death to those around and dancing around the "light of god". The third one is conquest. He's constantly picking fights, even staring at the face of death and instead attacking it. At first there doesn't seem to be a reason for it all, but he simply wants to conquer anyone and everyone. In the end he's beaten by a "pig" which represents the nature of conquest and the greed behind it. The fourth one is war. She's bringing destruction to everything around her, setting the world on fire. On the most basic of levels, she basically starts a gang war. In the end, all that matters is the destruction from the war she wrought and she destroys her car and herself to destroy her enemies and reach that goal. Then it ends off with a billboard with "The end is really ****ing nigh" and an apocalyptic sun rising up and calling them all to it, followed by the destruction of the city, and then it starts all over again. I can see how it'd be based on the four horsemen. vOv

@nicholasbarshaw41209 жыл бұрын
death, famine, war, and conquest are the original horsemen but the christian interpretation replaced conquest with pestilence. most Catholics still use the original ones though. the quote from the bible of conquest is "Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.-Revelation 6"

They start recording the follow up to "...Like Clockwork" at the end of this year. Homme said that they've already got the songs, they just need to record them. My guess is that "...Like Clockwork" could've easily been a double album, but they were sensible and decided to just take half the songs and put them onto "...Like Clockwork". That way, they could bring out a sequel album using the other "songs" and to be honest, I prefer this approach. I'd much rather have two solid albums with a one to two year gap between them, than a twenty song, two hour, one-hit wonder; it just gives us fans something else to look forward to in the future.

This album meant soo much to me when it came out it was silly. And after surviving my own incredibly near death experience my appreciation for this album and Josh as a human being has expanded tenfold, but why oh why did they have to edit "I Appear Missing". That song, especially it's climax and resolution, is IMHO the most beautiful and humble bit of art Josh has ever created. It is true that the most profoundly moving art comes from tragedy and I believe and am just one of many who are so very grateful that Josh's tragedy was not a complete sentence but rather his coma was just a comma.

We know that time loops because of the ending, so I think all four characters are aware of the looping. None of them seem to value their own lives, they all seemed resigned to death and misery but express it in different ways. Bandaged Man just floats through apathetically, waiting for the next loop to start. Masked Man relishes the time he has alive, though he spends that time alive completely alone. Helmet Man just wants to fuck shit up and seems to crave pain, both inflicting and receiving it. Car (Wo?)man seems to be similar to Helmet, though I get the feeling their attacks are more focused, maybe people that wronged them in the past? They all know they can't escape the cycle, so they just do whatever they want in the meantime.

These videos are so entertaining and it's nice that they pay like a quarter of the price or less to make something better than MTV. I love this band.

God this was fuckin' brilliant. I remember when it came out I anticipated each new video of the 4. So glad we have them all now in order in a full video. My God is the Sun is so amazing and a fitting culmination to these godless heathens.

And really dig how Josh gives credit to every contributor on the album,.....he turns the wheel but realizes there's no ship without a crew,...gotta love the maturity and progression in his vision.

This series of videos are a paradox because when you finish all the clips , you se the levitation man hard grunded near crows and if you replay all , the first clip is the next part of the last clip so it is a paradox
@KevinR113810 жыл бұрын
.....? It ends at the beginning, the circular nature of man to keep repeating the self destructive behavior that dooms him.
@KevinR113810 жыл бұрын
The levitating man is pretty much like a puppet only you don't see the strings, you know.... Like the rest of us

KevinR1138 How are we puppets? I know our ending is inevitable, but along that journey almost every choice is ours.
