I think this song is about being depressed (i mean really, as a sickness). Depression is like a vampyre that sucks away your feeling of time and memory and most of your emotions (i feel no love). I had a depression myself and recognize this all too well. For me this is a brilliant song.

No song has hit me so damn hard, for a very, very long time. I've heard this tune many, many times since the day I picked up the album the day it came out, June 3rd 2013. However, I never heard it the way I heard it today, and for that I'm grateful. When a piece of art can make you feel like it's okay to not feel okay, that things might get better, and they also might not, but that if they don't, then you better start changing your perception and reaction to them real fuckin' quick- is a blessing in itself. "Does anybody ever get this right?"

My favorite line is "to be vulnerable is needed most of all, if you intend to truly fall apart" thinking of getting it tattooed. It reminds me that I need to open up and tell things to people if I want to get to the root of my problems so I can then build myself up from the deconstructed pieces.

I must disagree with 49th's post (although some new KZbin tyranny will not allow me to directly reply to his comment) Queens of the Stone Age's videos have always remained more about the music than the visual. And the visuals have absolutely been what you call "cheesy" before! But only if you ignore that the primacy of the visual in QotSA videos is never intended to supercede that of the auditory. It's like in much of punk music, how the simplicity and brashness of the chords and overall instrumentals may be intended to direct your attention to the lyrics! And those points aside, I think this is one of the most intriguing and intricately detailed videos they've put out so far. My faith in Queens of the Stone Age remains UNSHAKEN, nay, it is STRONGER THAN EVER!

The Optimistic version of this song - (read bottom before commenting) I want God to come, and help us all, cause we’re not alone, in this in crowd Who are you to me, Who were supposed to be, It will come to us in a while, Sure as plain to see, you can follow thee, we can follow free, in style Yes everyone can all get this right We need more love Let’s get empathy here, to help cure the fear, The division that we feel Is real, To be positive, is needed where we live If we expect to truly change a thing Let’s hope the worst of all is far behind The vampire of greed and conquering, has thrived, We survived, we speak, we breath, We must defeat, Must rebel, we pray, For change again, Cause We need more love, Yes everyone can all get this right Yes everyone can all get this right We need more love, we need more love -what’s up people:) I’ve been making Call of Duty, Warzone parodies for about 6 months. Made a suicidal version of ABBA’s, Mama Mia and pissed off some dude name Sherman83. So I’ve decided to stick with optimistic stuff but that pissed off a couple people too. It’s not my intentions. My version is just for fun. The original song is a MASTERPIECE. every word. Truly. My version is just for fun. If you’re going through some bad shit, I hope you get through it ok. I’ve been listening to this since it came out (10 years???) and every so often it’ll gain new meaning for me. Over the past 3 years I’ve been in an extremely low point and have repeated considered ending it all. The words “I’m alive, hooray. You’re wrong again cause I feel no love” just hits home. Just because I lived doesn’t mean I’m better. I still have the uphill road of recovery.

His turmoil really comes though in this record. Love it but it is definitely painful.
