Loving this one! Such a groove. I know people like Queens for their lyrical prowess or for all of the zigs rather than zags they take in their songs, but this one to me offers an underlying palette via the drums, bass, and guitar that the vocals and solo can mess around on. Very jam-y and offers a vibe more than a journey like a song might otherwise do, and that's ok

Ok this makes sense about the album. I'm not sure what their official stance / word / statement is but many songs on this album sound like some from previous albums. I listen to this album in my work car over and over and over on repeat. I got in after an appointment, turned the CD player on, was finishing up work notes and thought I was listening to them crooked vultures. I've "heard" songs off this album from vulgaris and lullabies for sure.
@pitpride1220 Жыл бұрын
@@torys8236 The album is a lot of perfecting historical QOTSA sounds and introducing some new ones or putting them in new contexts. It's a fantastic album! It's a great nod to die hard fans like me. They've pulled out old riffs before. They do it a decent amount. The Evil Has Landed was a riff Josh wrote early on in Rated R sessions. Couldn't find a way to make it work until Villains. Love that about them!
