This line has quite some history. It was opened in 1889 and the section from Lota to Cleveland was closed in October 1960 and reopened on almost the exact same alignment in October 1987. It also has a dual gauge freight line to the Port Of Brisbane at Fisherman Islands running parallel that was federally funded under the Keating Government's 'One Nation' rail infrastructure package costing 83,000,000 dollars although opened way behind schedule in February 1997. Many of the adjacent narrow gauge trestle bridges dating from 1889 got upgraded in the process.

Yeah I also like how the Cleveland line alternates from single track to double track between Manly and Cleveland with Birkdlale and Ormiston stations having only one platform

@@QueenslandTrains101 I haven't checked that out but the line is state of the art compared to what existed before October 1960. Funny enough a 2000 class railmotor service began to Cleveland one week before closure. Talk about short-sighted. Not many remember but there used to be some sort of level crossing at the Paxton Street corner going towards Cleveland Point back in the 1990s. If not Paxton Street it would be Station Street the next one down.
