David Lynch’s work is mesmerising by definition. You either enter his world or you’ll never do. It’s become almost my second nature. And it’s all the most enriching because it’s visual , emotional and musical. You enter into a different atmosphere to which you are either sensitive or not. Period.

I saw Little Jimmy Scott performing in Georgetown, Washington DC a few weeks after his legendary Twin Peaks performance. I mentioned with great pride, and so honored to be there, that I had just come from home watching again his Twin Peaks stunner. His initial reaction was not to believe me, but he realized it was true and he was very nice. He intoned then, "The ghost story!" And in that, blowing me away!

People who are calling this pretentious have probably never even watched the show or this scene in particular. The original scene was overly dramatic and this cover pretty much just conveys what Twin Peaks is about. Watch the Xiu Xiu cover and you'll see what I mean. There's no way of performing this song without performance or else you would lose the essence of the show.
