Pure lynch, starts weird and odd and you think you're going to hate it, ends as the most emotional beautiful thing you've heard all week. Genius
@mikeadams30447 жыл бұрын
I imagine the video's director had a lot to do with that.
@steverogers62737 жыл бұрын
I doubt the videos director had anything to do with the structure of the song, which was produced by Lynch. The video is interesting but it's not what I'm talking about.

I had to actually take a minute...I have an hour long drive from work. I am accompanied by 2x 12" subwoofers and I listen to this the whole ride....the song completely eviscerates my soul. The slow rise of what sounds like a pipe organ gives me a feeling of ascension to halls of Elysium. Music can evoke feelings inside of us to come out, however I've never heard a song that could completely create a feeling. Those who have died and come back to life explain death as a feeling of peace...like they had no more worries as it has all been left behind...This about as much of a comparison that I could muster for this magnificent piece of art....GOD DAMN!😭😭😭

I can only call David a genius of demented nostalgia, he makes you feel familiar with things you've never seen before. Like this vid (I know it's not his but I bet it was inspired by the music) reminds me of a cinderella doll in the music box. When the spring upon which it rests breaks, it will make shaky movements like Chrysta while rotating. Genius is simplicity, it is in childhood and hiding it like a dream.

Kind of a response too late, but he's done with filming movies in the traditional sense. At the time of this writing I hope you are enjoying David Lynch and Chrysta Bell in Twin Peaks but, apparently Lynch feels cable television to be the future for engrossing filmography. He's even quoted as stating Twin Peaks season 3 is just an 18 part movie split into hour segments.

My guess: A half dozen or more precisely choreographed takes from a locked-down camera. These were cut together in sequence, one frame from each take. The Discreet Logic Smoke could be programmed to do something like this as an effect. It had a bunch of tools for doing whizzy things with single-frame edits, This is definitely an Lynch-ian masterpiece!
