I was at that party...It was basically a wine tasting in the basement of Julio's liquors in Westboro Mass. Geoff was there a year prior for a meet and greet with fans in support of his Insania wine and he autographed the bottles and took pics with the fans that came down. They sold 50 or so tickets to fans for this night with Geoff and Parker and held the party in the basement where we all drank Insania wine and you could interact with Geoff and Parker in between songs/set...He sang around 6-8 songs and then just hung out and took photos and talked with everyone and we drank plenty of wine...Probably the coolest party I ever went to and you got to hang out with Geoff and talk wine, Queensryche stories alike...Geoff is a great dude and one of the most down to earth person you'd ever meet. So glad I got the chance to attend this event...It was AWESOME!!

Consider this: everyone is there more than likely for some sort of drinking / party; and then a half drunk Geoff Tate proceeds to basically nail one of the toughest tunes for any sober singer on the spur of the moment. Much respect!!!!

I think Geoff's voice need some rest, the last decade was about touring. I don't think a surgery is necesary, as you can hear, his voice is strong, just lost a few of his technique. Watch the live events and albums from 1982 to 1994, forget the high notes, his control was perfect, the vibrato sounds natural, I mean listen to Child of Fire interlude, the original version of this, Enforce´s last verse. Sounds like a opera singer giving us a taste of his power.

to me this video is proof that when geoff tries he can actually sound pretty good. he hits all the notes in this performance but on a normal tour performance in recent years he hasnt hit them properly. and for people who think this guitarist cant play he can. he plays it just like degarmo did. of course the harmony would sound better with the second guitar but thats how chris played the song. there is a crap amp in this, no bass, no second guitar and no drums so obviously it wont sound as good.

Tate is the real voice of Queensryche. TLT is a clone.
@zweetvoeten10 жыл бұрын
This is nice because the song is great. But you cannot compare it anymore to how he sang it way back. Todd La Tore is of course the right man at the right place now. Geoff Tate wanted a different sound and a different direction for years. Better pick a new name than as well.

Not a Tate fan since he took the band away from it's true sound, but this isn't half bad. (Considering how bad he sounds today.) And while Todd may be considered a "clone", at least he brought back the Queensryche sound.
@marc-andremorency99035 жыл бұрын
So bands have true sounds that they can't evolve from? Who decides that?
@fiji81395 жыл бұрын
Guitarist is nothing special tho. What was that solo?
@kenRoberts198411 жыл бұрын
Are you deaf? Todd is a solid singer.
@MikeScott3211 жыл бұрын
I don't know what some of you were hearing...but I heard him miss several high notes and generally be nowhere near what he once was. You aren't actually music fans if you think that was good...You're just trying to say he WAS Queensryche or that the new guy sucks. I used to love this band, but it was this guy above who did everything he could to ruin it and make it a joke. All they really did was go get a clone of a younger Geoff, but at least it isn't this jerk.
