The title and lyrics have a dual meaning: the woman loves that he is missing (while touring for months at a time) and also the city he loves. Queensryche is from Seattle. Seattle used to be called The Jet City because Boeing Corp was based there. That's why they are using images of the Space Needle, Pike Place Market and singing about the weather ("rain down on me!"), all iconic Seattle landmarks. No singer I've ever heard compares to Geoff Tate. I don't believe none ever will. His endless range, the speed at which he could traverse it, the depth of his voice...utterly spine-tingling amazing. Neither have I seen a band release two different types of albums (Operation Mindcrime and Empire) that were both masterpieces. Queensryche was phenomenal through and through.

Original lineup Queensryche is my favorite band ever! This song was about Geoff's first wife who was an airline stewardess. Also Jet City is Seattle's nickname because it is or was the Boing jet headquarters. I've never seen better live performances than Queensryche! Absolutely perfect -- all five members were flawless! I hope you do more of their songs (first 5 albums or so). They are diverse in what they write but always have that Queensryche intensity with great build-ups and pay offs! Itis interesting after having grown up in the 70's and 80's listening to metal, especially Queensryche, how people who are just discovering them decades later react. They were so ahead of their time it isn't even funny. If you want to experience them live and probably one of the best performaces they ever put on, watch Operation Livecrime. It never gets old.

Queensryche are from Bellvue WA a suburb of Seattle. My ex wife's cousin is from there. Boeing was headquartered there. Seattle is a beautiful city. My ex and I used to drive there from Walla Walla to vist her aunt and cousins driving MountRanier park.

I think this song was dedicated to Yates wife and all their wives girlfriends while on tour through their mist successful tour empire. Also the mark of home 🏡 Seattle. The craziness he speaks of is not her acting crazy or anything its his missing her so much while touring. The plane delayed to take him home to her.
