Well he also inspired millions of people to pick up a bass. And wears 60 lbs of gear every live show,breathes fire and spits blood at 72 years old. Sure he might not have the best personalit but he's one hell of a performer, bassits, writer and musician. Gene is part of the reason I took business for unversity because of his succes with the KISS brand and his busienss, he was such an inspiration to me that basically anyone can make it if they put in the work there's a reason he's the richest KISS member.

This is a really important moment for Graham, really. He just proved he can handle the superstar ego and play off the banter that most guys would spare because they are not as narcissistic. Graham has actually done a better job of handling divas like Simmons, Mustaine etc because he can play off the ego. When someone is respectful, like for example Rob Halford and KK were, it becomes a more regular Q&A. Not in a bad way, but really it's not appreciated enough how well Graham handles the big fish!

Yeah agreed. Gene is a millionare and rockstar who worked his ass off from littearly nothing. With a mother as a consentration camp survivor. So yeahhhhh. While everyone else is a minimum or mid wage worker, I'd assume. Say what you want but he's fucking smart and his musicimanship both playing bass and writing songs and good basslines is amazing. And without him Kiss wouldn'tve been nearly as succesful. He's 25% of the reason of why the other guys reached such high sucess. No one could've taken the place of "The Demon" and no one had his business mind and bass playing to fit the Kiss songs.

Underrated. Also he kept tabs on how much every band member owed him before Kiss made it big because he drove a cab and brought in the most cash? Not kosher in my book, Chaim, not at all... Still props to Gruhamed for handling him so well considering this was from a while ago. I used to think Ian Gillan was cheeky in his appearance but Chaim blowed it out the water.

I met Mr. Simmons at the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville for a meet and greet for the radio station 102.9 the buzz. He was there signing autographs, records, guitars and stuff. He was also promoting some kind of new axe shaped bass he had put his brand on as well. My mother had some legit old school 1973 concert tickets from before they were even big. He refused to sign the tickets and called my mom an old hag dinosaur for holding onto such nostalgia, which i thought was funny, but probably the most unprofessional and ungrateful response someone could say to a fan who had been there since the beginning in front of a crowd of fans and radio interviewers. He's a real genuine classy asshole and definitely doesnt mind shitting on the people that put him where he is.
@codywhite4242

@KISS 666 the only wrong we did was show up to boost his ego. If bringing some old school memorabilia was too much of an impact on his fragile image, then thats his problem, not the fans. Been more than a few years now and i could really care less if i ever met the guy again. I was never a fan of kiss really, i respect Ace Frehley for his musicianship, and thats about as far as it goes. It was an oppurtunity to get out and meet "one of the greatest", but perhaps the mention of some old tickets like that made him realize how old and irrelevant he is to music these days and that hes just riding a dead horse till the end.

WHEN BLACK SABBATH WENT INTO THE STUDIO TO RECORD THEIR 3RD ALBUM. THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO SING ABOUT. THE STUDIO WAS VERY HOT AND A VERY STRANGE THING HAPPENED. AS THEY WERE GETTING READY TO LEAVE A COOL BREEZE CAME INTO THE STUDIO AND THE MEMBERS OF THE BAND SUDDENLY DECIDED THEY WOULD MAKE THIS ALBUM DEDICATED TO GOD/CHRIST. OBVIOUSLY IN ACTS 2:17 WHERE GOD SAYS GOD WILL POUR OUT HIS SPIRIT. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED WITH MASTER OF REALITY WHICH IS THE PROPHECY FROM GOD INSPIRED IT THROUGH MUSIC.. I ALWAYS KNEW THE MASTER OF REALITY WAS GOD/CHRIST AND YOU PEOPLE THINK THAT GOD AND CHRIST ARE NOT HIP.. LOTS OF ROCK AND NEW WAVE MUSIC IS INSPIRED BY GOD/CHRIST. THE MANNER IN WHICH THESE SONGS ARE WRITTEN CLEARLY TELLS YOU IT IS GOD'S INFLUENCE UPON MAN.THE COOL BREEZE WHICH COOLED DOWN THE STUDIO WAS THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. IF I WAS A SATANIST I WOULD BE SHIVERING IN FEAR AFTER READING THIS POST. Acts 2:17-21New International Version (NIV) 17 “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

Back in the year 1983 as they took off their makeup there was telephone number in a German magazine that could be called (there was no internet at that time) to listen to a tape with Gene saying why they unmasked. I was a great Kiss fan so I called. But instead of saying why they took off their masks Gene told these probably mostly young callers to believe in themselves. As an adult I realized why he did that. Because those masks are entertainment without reason, so no reason could named for having taken them off. He just took the opportunity to appeal to his fans for their self-esteem. Great, Gene!

@Juan Cabana Maybe I should have said 10%. Point is the same. Tomorrow, out of every 100 people that go to a fast food restaurant, 28 will go to McDonalds. That is far more of a market share than their nearest competitor. KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell combined will be about 1/2 that. Only 5 will go to Burger King. Yet, only 28 people make them the best while 72 people chose something else. That is the only point I was trying to make.

Gene Simmons has a great memory and recalls things effortlessly. Lots of good information here. Also, he's a total D.B.

Love him or hate him, he inspired millions of people to pick up a bass. And wears 60 lbs of gear every live show,breathes fire and spits blood at 72 years old. Sure he might not have the best personality but he's one hell of a performer, bassits, writer and musician. Gene is part of the reason I took business for unversity because of his succes with the KISS brand and his busienss, he was such an inspiration to me that basically anyone can make it if they put in the work. There's a reason he's the richest KISS member. I have nothing but respect for him because actions speak louder than words. Sure you might think his personality is bad or even horrible. But you can't deny that it's damn impressive to come from a country with a holocaust survivor as a mother with nothing. Then becoming one of the most famous rockstars ever.

Graham killed it, as always. He has the most incredible way of getting interviewees to show a unique side of themselves. Including Gene, the most troublesome interviewee I've ever seen
