I love how relevant this show is today even after more than a decade later. The only thing that's changed really is the music and the fashion. So much that goes on in the show are things that are still happening right now. It's crazy.

I bought the complete series box set and finished watching all of them yesterday with my best friend (it's addicting!) I must say the series is inspirational. As straight women, the show really opened our minds and touched our heart. And I don't think any other TV shows has brought many tears of sadness and joy as this one had. I LOVE QAF !!

@widedPanda97976 жыл бұрын

Izzy I agree! I watched the series once when I was 13 and again now (I’m 21 now), and now that I’m older and wiser, I actually think the ending was perfect. It would have been sappy and unrealistic if they ended up together in a perfect bow. I thought their ending was poignant and showed how selfless their love was for the other!
@izzyduffy7603 жыл бұрын
@@Mia-xo6hg exactly! And it was deliberately open ended! Who knows what happens in 5 or 10 years! Also just a fun fact but I’m also 21 now 😂

I wish it would have gone on a couple more years. I am one of those who wish Brian and Justin would have gotten married even if they didn't live together all the time. I think the love they portrayed on the show deserved that, deserved better than the way they wrote it at the end and I think that ending sent a fairly negative and bitter message about relationship. I understand that they didn't actually break up, but the way it came across onscreen was very sad. like their love and being together wasn't the most important thing to them. I think love and being together is much more important than a career or money or whatever...

For some reasons I felt like the pruducer who ever created the show was racist for not including few black people in as main characters. I mean Lindsay wife could've been a black and we would've had a perfect interracial lesbian couple. I love Mel though! Just saying

I loved the ending! I thought it was perfect. Like Brian said "It's only time", and Justin said " We don't need rings or vows to know that we love each other". Actually I think if the wedding happened I'd be squirming in my seat because I can just picture it in my head, a great big cheese ball fest.

Hell I relate to Justin so much that I actually was the same age as he was at the start of the show when he "came out" to his parents. I still shy about it with my parents, I'll never be like Justin, except one day in the future I hope to find my Brian... God, I need to buy the Complete Series DVD! I am truly obsessed on everything about this show, and nothing has been as impactful on my life as this series. I really hope people understand how important this show is.

This show made me proud of being gay in a different way...not the same way that all the "it gets better" campaigns and "you are unique" speeches do. I had heard it all before and I was immune to the words. This show made being gay (in my eyes) cool and made me feel like I had freedom and independence from being gay. I don't have to follow the beaten track. It also made me fail all my exams as I started watching in exam season and couldn't stop. I recommend this to all gay teens. Very empowering.
@pump06612 жыл бұрын
Isn't it strange that Gale and Randy doesn't have anything to say.Those roles must've been truly a traumatizing experience for them. Seems their later careers suffered as well. It's too sad to see what price you still have to pay for your bravery.
@Midebolz4 жыл бұрын
Exactly... I can imagine what some1 like Gale would have accomplished if he had been giving a chance in Hollywood to step out of the Brian Kinney Character.

I find it refreshing that all of them are so in touch with knowing that it was time to move on. You pour so much of yourself into a character that you lose a little bit of yourself and ending, while it's still at the top of its game, it is painful and freeing at the same time.

I agree, there should be a movie about QAF, but I truly believe that at the end of the series, Brian knows what he wants and it is Justin and just because they didn't show it on screen, I know that he went to NY to be with Justin and that's how it ended in my eyes. They both taught each other important things. Brian taught Justin how to be the best homosexual he can be; confident, strong, independent, ambitious and skin of steel to handle ANYTHING that came his way.......and Justin taught Brian that there ARE people who you can trust....and who are there for you not because they want something.....but because they just want to be there for you. He taught Brian it is ok and even brave as fck to have feelings for people...or even to love someone. In a way...they both needed one another to grow into stronger and more well rounded men. While I would have LOVED to see a wedding for them....it is just enough for them knowing that they love each other that much that they know they WOULD get married. But we have to face it...those 2 have a very unconventional relationship. Despite that....they truly were selfless towards one another. Both want each other to soar to the highest heights, but they knew they couldnt do that if one had to give up something in exchange for being together. You HAVE to respect that about them. If anything.....that is what had me bawling like a baby most.
