We are happy to present the first episode of Queer Talks Bhutan.
Queer Talks Bhutan is an initiative by Queer Voices of Bhutan. The Series is hosted by Namgay Zam (Independent Multimedia Journalist) and one of the strongest ally of the community.
Queer Talks Bhutan is created with the aim to create local contents focusing on the Queer and LGBTIQ+ communities in the country.
We want to thank all the interviewees for agreeing to participate in the program. You guys are beacon of hope in bringing Visibility and change of perceptions of people towards the community.

He showed what a human can become into. I have always supported LGBTQ but this is a whole new level for our country Bhutan. I am so proud of our country and the people. Every human deserve to happy and here tenzin revealed his secret of his happiness. I am just in awe knowing that he is a model. We have the right to live a life we love. You are the best version you can be, Kudos!!! Courageous mom for all her sacrifice in pursuit of enlightenment, my utmost respect to the lady.(she did not abandon her child, she opened her arms for us all) No comments for the dad. I don't know his situation. And my heart bleed for people like me and my kind, who have made someone's life miserable just for few seconds of fun (I considered it to be fun) unaware that my mockery could have devastating impact, I was at constant practice to rip them off. M sorry to all I ve been ill to, it makes no sense thought. I am proud you exist ,keep up. May you meet what you aspire.

I'm from Northeast India and visited Bhutan before pandemic. I loved the environment and climate out there because it suited me spiritually and physically(Bhutanese water cured my pimples for some time😭). My issue was just with the lil stares I got while I was walking down the street. Yes I dressed eccentrically but with modestly as well.

I remember a friend who was a gay when we were in lower secondary school. I used to call him names and use all those derogatory terms. I never knew that time that my words would have an impact on them. I just wish him a good life wherever he is.
