Straight ako, my best friend is gay. He never really outed to me. I never asked. Hindi nagmatter sakin e. I've known him since elementary, we're now in our mid 30's. I think this idea of having to prove something just because you identify as another gender than what was assigned to you at birth is to overcompensate. The society wants you to prove your worth because when we were born, meron na agad idea of how we need to lead our lives. If babae ka, expected to bear children in the future. If lalake ka, you are expected to provide for your future family. Your gender predetermines what is expected of you in life. And since these idealizations will most likely not be your reality, the society imposes that you be good at other things to compensate what you are "lacking". A compromise of sorts. It's truly sad and backwards thinking talaga. Through the years I have seen my best friend do this. Lalo na with his parents. I remember when he invited me and his boyfriend at the time over for fiesta and out of the blue bigla nlng nag speech ang papa nya about wishing his son would have a traditional family in the future. That hurt me, it broke him. He never resented his parents though. Acceptance is what matters most. It really resonated what Miss D said, "we are only tolerated but not truly accepted". Good for you if you're out and accepted. I just wish all people would just be enlightened. Being gay is not a sin or a crime towards society. You did not choose to be this way, you were born this way. This is your truth. I will not even tackle religions and ang kaemehan nila towards the community. It's a whole different topic. So much to nitpick I just kenat. I really enjoyed and appreciated this episode! Stay true to yourself! Ang importante tanggap nyo sarili nyo, and you don't have to be ashamed to be gay or lgbtqia+! Stay loud and proud. ❤

Kaya as part of LGBTQ+ this is very timely kasi most or all of the community is really experiencing this. Walang nakakaligtas. Tama din na we are just tolerated but not yet accepted. This is a good platform na maihayag yung boses ng nakararami sa pamamagitan nila.

I guess the thing Chardie said about her aunt saying "kapag may pera na yan mapupunta lang sa lalaki" is also one of the reasons why we're trying so hard to prove ourselves. Parang need natin ipakita na that kind of thinking is no longer applicable sa panahon natin ngayon. Na hindi porke bakla ka you have to always pay for love. Na kapag may boyfriend ka it automatically means you are supporting or paying them. Pero it is still up to us to prove wrong. Anyway, I am so happy for you guys. Thank you for this.

Pinapatunayan in a sense na we build our own aspirations rooted first for validation and respect. But it turns out after all these years looking back sa journey ko naiba na yung perspective ko. I don't need to justify and address my sexuality anymore. Ngayon I'm just being me, if you don't like it then leave it. Malakas loob namin na maging loud and proud kasi from the very beginning totoo kami sa sarili namin, hindi namin ikanahiya kung ano kami. Bakla, bading, bayot, call us anything you all want kasi we are everything, we can share and impart to this and that. Happy Pride 🏳️‍🌈🎉.

people cannot accept who u really are, but growing up and being able to know who you are makes you happier and more confident. You don't have to come out to every person who can't contribute to your life. When time goes by, everything will be clear as it is. there's nothing wrong with being who you are, not because you are afraid what people think of you as they treat you differently. Just be yourself and prove them wrong because you're not just a gay but a person.

I think, unconsciously, kailangan nating may patunayan kasi ramdam nating mina-maliit tayo ng society. "Bakla" is STILL used to degrade someone. Kapag duwag, bakla.

i come to this point in my life na alam ko na gradually nirerecognize ko na ang mga strengths and weaknesses ko especially capabilities ko bilang bakla, i continue working on it to further improve and gain more information about things. wala akong need patunayan sa iba, because that just gives more pressure tho it feels good when you prove something to others but at the end of the you have to get back from the idea that you yourself matters more than anyone else’s opinion and perspective to you.

This vlog shows that in reality what their community feels are also relatable for straight peeps out there. Not all of it but what I mean at the end of the day we are just human facing problems, different ways and etc. So all we can do is to be kind and be respectful. We are all humans, regardless of gender, we deserve to live the life and make it worthy.

Me as a gay, I have experienced also the feeling na dapat may mapatunayan maybe because me personally my goal Is to let people know that gays is not just gays, I want to have a stable job, I need to provide for my family, I need to act decently, I need to help the community, because thinking about it, I just need to prove to people that a gay has a future. I even pray that "lord Sana po balang araw lahat Ng pamilya na may anak n bakla, ay magpasalamat sayo dahil dumating kami sa Mundo". Society Kasi they already putted a label sa mga bakla, and I want that wall to vanished and LGBTQIA+ will be fully accepted without judgement, maybe naisip ko din na Kapag gumawa ako Ng tama, Ng mabuti,as gay ay titingalain din ako Ng mga tao and Dala ko Yung LGBTQIA+ na group eh, gusto Kong marinig in the future Mula sa mga tao na, bakla Yan pero alam mo ba marami ding maitutulong at mararating yan

Nagaaral pa lang kami alam ko na they are part of LGBTQ+ pero di ako or kami nagtanong if ganun ba sila kasi di naman need. Yung point na tama naman bakit sila need pa mag out. No need, no questions asked. I love them like a kapatid

32:23 That's true, if kaya mo lang sana mamili between being a straight guy or being a queer, bakit mo pipiliin yung alam mong hindi tanggap ng paligid. I remember the day na I came out to my father who's a pastor that same day midnight when I was sleeping I overheard him praying for me habang nakataas kamay niya sa ulo ko. I pretended na lang na tulog talaga ako then I also prayed na if this is wrong amongst the people bakit ako pa?

I am straight pero as I watched this vid, may lesson akong natutunan which is bakit nga naman kailangan nating may mapatunayan sa ibang mga taong puro negative ang sinasabi sa atin when in fact wala naman silang ambag sa buhay natin. Parang sa akin, I am a shifter kasi diko kinaya yung dati kong course. Ang dami kong naririnig even my titas na bakit raw nag shift ako.

To feel less shameful (for lack of better words), kailangan may ma-achieve tayo to still have the sense of worth na may kaya tayo kahit "bakla ka lang", Plus in an asian household, it's a big deal to maintain a high status in academics and/or talents. When there's stigma surrounding the fact that LGBTQ+ are minorities and "not normal", we are compelled to further prove ourselves, especially in our own households na our sexuality doesn't define and limit our capabilities as a person. Even when these years are considered "open-minded" now, di parin nawawala ung mga side-comments katulad ng na mention sa 12:31 na maybe comes from good intentions pero di nila narerealize na nagiging ignorant ung pag-iisip and mas lalong na-eenhance ung stigma na someone's sexuality is a con ("Bakla sya pero ____", "Magaling kumanta pero kilos nya parang bakla", "Mayaman naman sya bakit parin naging ____", etc) We're conditioned to be used to these behaviors from other people na and it's sad :( In reality we don't have to prove ourselves na bakla tayo and we also don't need to prove our worth just because they see the queer community as lower beings. To me, religion is a very weak and tasteless reason for people to hate and discriminate on anyone especially in Catholicism/Christianity because the main lesson, the main purpose, and the most powerful commadment by Jesus is to "Love thy neighbor as much". Bible talk is very contradicting and genuinely not the most reliable source of where we should base our morality in when we take a look at the recent translations and see a lot of contemporary words when in reality those words aren't coined during BC times. A very well known example is the word "Homosexuality" in the Bible. I can go on and on about this since I've done a bit of research before for a short paper I needed to do, but in short a lot of the 'boy to boy' sexual tendencies in other translations that aren't english refer to pedophilia, adultery, gang rape, and slavery, NOT AT ALL referring to the actual sexuality.

I agree with the fact na we need to identify ourselves na because people are now confused just for example pag nkikipagfling ka you thought someone is straight and later gay Pala... I mean hindi naman lahat nadadaan sa pakiramdaman. kasi ung Ibang gay naoofend din cla Kung sir/ maam tawag sa kanila eh they look straight naman so sa pronouns palang naooffend na kau how much more for other things... Just tell us I guess now we are open and supportive and continue to be understanding slowly. I have a crush before and talked to him I appreciated him however he said not to be into him coz he's gay being truthful might hurt other people but atleast it controls the damage. I support the LGBTQ+ and you guys have proven enough and remove a lot of stereotypes of being gay still I hope we understand people who are traditional where they are coming from and not force them to treat you the way you want to be treated. Coz in general not all people are treated well as they wanted.

siguro kaya parang may pina patunayan ay dahil the society automatically thinks negatively if you are part of lgbtq+ community since natural na sa tao ang ijudge ang something na they dont understand. Though most of the people na nag jujudge is wala nman silbi sa buhay nung jinujudge. Minsan naman others are already expecting for you not to be successful kaya people in the community tends to make sure they have more to offer.

I think tama si Warren and Ms. Deliciousness, our society as major catholic most people think na salot tayo sa bayan. Yun kse yung panahon na laganap yung ganoong kaisipan, ganoong label or tagged as "Salot". Ang nangyare, LGBT community are consciously or subconsciously have to prove ourself to do great things, to be good citizen, and to prove those people wrong who said na Salot tayo.

Mindset na natin siya na iprove to others na we are not only a gay, lesbian etc.

I don't think peer pressure only happens to a specific community but to everyone especially if you are around people who are hypocrites and frustrated with their life. I am straight but I surely experienced that from my relatives. They just don't respect you if you do not pass within their standards especially when it comes to personal beliefs, how you dress, how you carry yourself, how you make friends and etc.
