The only fan letter I ever wrote was to Bruce Dern, and he not only answered, he sent me an autographed picture and a lock of his hair. (It was a direct response to what I wrote in my letter, not some weird fetish thing.) A very nice man who's always good, no matter what he's doing. And I'd like to point out that he worked several times with Hitchcock. I think that outweighs a few biker movies.

Haha hahaha that part cracked me up for real!!!!!! It just looked like it was a real accident the way he just let it take him down just annoyingly but accepting of the lousy hand gravity and wood-rot just dealt to him right then!!!😂😆🤣🤣😁✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼

The first movie I ever saw him in was the Driver 1978. Since them I always spot him when I watch old westerns & vintage movies. I love his acting & style.

Outstanding. Bruce Dern has long been one of my favorite character actors, but I am unfamiliar with much of his earlier work (e.g. Roger Corman) shown in this tribute. I would love to see more.

Bruce Dern is the most profound supporting actor that I know. I remember seeing him in movies when I was a kid. He was the most impressionable in westerns as an outlaw. He had that look in his eye.

When I was just a kid, I saw Mr. Dern in a cowboy movie.... I knew he stood apart, I was so attracted to him - instantly. Every scene he's ever acted, absolutely incredible. Thank you for being different Bruce Dern. I noticed with awe.

I just saw Bruce Dern's scene while rewatching Django, and man, was I impressed. I was taken back by how much hatred he had, and then I realized I knew his name... took a few seconds to reach the deeper recesses to remember what it was. I had to look at his other work. QT is right, he's an acting treasure

3:27 has to be the "Dernsie" of all "Dernsies" that almost cost him his career but WHAT A "DERNSIE" IT WAS. Even John Wayne said it himself by saying "A lot of people gonna hate you" or something close to that quote. I've seen some top villain's lists and Bruce Dern's character of Long Hair in The Cowboys IS NOT mentioned in a top 10. WELL IT SHOULD BE

No Black Sunday? Or how 'bout The Laughing Policeman? Two of my favorite Bruce Dern roles. But I think his best performance was in Smile as Big Bob Freelander.

Bruce Dern, the Adlai Stevenson of moviedom. And he's got quite a pedigree, something right out of the Gilded Age. Check it out on Wiki. In that sense, he comes from an America that's veddy Anglo Saxon. But then again, so did Lady Jayne Seymour Fonda, Gore Vidal (I never understood just how Vidal is related to President Jimmy Carter), Tallulah Bankhead (Senator Bankhead of Alabama) and Anne Baxter (Frank Lloyd Wright). By his heritage, Dern really should've ended up on the board of Franklin Templeton, an executive with S&P, or upper reaches of J. Walter Thompson. You get the picture, don't you?
