He's an interesting combination of daring honesty and vivid imagination. He understands story, and it comes out in his whole mannerism. He's excited because stories are exciting, I think, and he stays there.

I wish i was as passionate in what i do as Quentin is about what he does.
@w.harrison72773 жыл бұрын
Why aren't you? To my mind if someone is not passionate then they are not being honest with themselves. We live in a culture that likes to tell us how we should feel. QT doesn't let other people tell him how he should feel, he knows for instance that violence is very interesting and compelling in life and in story so he films it without regard to the "safety neuroticism" that came in on the feminist tidal wave.

He looks good with his natural colour, he looks really well too. I’m really looking forward to his 9th next year, I hope he does some 16mm stuff in the style of the old Manson interviews that would be ace.

Can I just say that Tarantino is either my #1 fav director or at least in my top 3? PS I can listen to this guy talk about movies all day long. PS2 Can I also say of this guy only makes 2 or 3 more movies and then quits, in gonna punch myself in the face and then get a tad somber. Jk but seriously this guy is amazing.

malkooth malkooth I'm serous when I say this but I honestly don't know what or who your ref. I'm not maybe as well informed, we'll wait, obviously not, as well informed. However, what I'm gathering is he was chummy with this Godard guy when he was praising Tarentino but when he did not praise his other work Tarentino discredited him and moved to another critic?

Quentin is all sun kissed and looking good in his crisp, white linen shirt. I think what he's saying makes perfect sense. If you pull from something, just make it your own. It will still be original unless you want people to know what you're pulling from. Inspiration has to come from somewhere. For instance, I've always loved Quentin's De Palma pull of split screen sequences. De Palma is far more sophisticated in his execution of course, but if QT is into it, why shouldn't he use it? It works.

I had this weird fucking dream last night that I was Quentin Tarantino's secret lovechild. I found a childhood photo of me (in the dream), and it was this horrifying hybrid of me and Quentin. It had my blonde hair and grey eyes, and his big nose and deep creases coming down from the sides. Scary looking, but I'm such a fan of his movies that I was really proud to be related to him.

Sorry, but I don't think Tarantino should be giving advice. He has stolen the majority of his ideas, and that's a fact. It would be better if a more original filmmaker mentored these students.

I'm sorry you had to deal with a bunch of racist idiots. Regardless of opinions, race should've never been brought up. That being said, I agree that taking inspiration from other artists is common in all mediums. Led Zeppelin took much from other bands, and I hold them to be among the greats. Quentin is no different. I'm not familiar with what he's been claimed to steal from, but he surely is still responsible for many masterpieces.
@stagger96606 жыл бұрын
True hes still the one putting it on screen tho

He didn´t mentor us, he was doing a Q&A at the beginning of the school year. at AFI they have many acclaimed directors come in for one session.
@MrAlanSnackbar7 жыл бұрын
Tips from Tarantino? Steal as much as possible! He is the most overrated director in the history of the medium. He steals everything. Even "his" style is a copy from other, better directors.
@timy91977 жыл бұрын
You're basically describing every director ever. Or every artist in general.
@NostalgiNorden7 жыл бұрын
That's just retarded. Scorsese "STEALS" just as much but no body cares becuse it is from italian directors. But whatever, i'm sure he stole his dialouge writing skills from god right?
@ousamaldib7 жыл бұрын
At the end he gives a movie like you have never seen a movie before so how he steals? If his movies are regular so I am with you but you cant say that his movies are such a regular movies, no his movies are different from any other movie you could watch in the whole history
@bebaguette7667 жыл бұрын
NostalgiNorden No way does he do that, unless you count reboots as stealing.
@CommissionerofGames7 жыл бұрын
To write as well as he does and to direct as well as he does... how many other directors have the skill to turn their vision into reality?
