In this exclusive clip from the AFI Conservatory's opening day on August 21, 2017, Quentin Tarantino answers a question from an AFI Fellow about how he goes about directing a scene when he is part of an onscreen ensemble. Tarantino, who was interviewed by AFI Conservatory Dean Richard Gladstein (Executive Producer of RESERVOIR DOGS and PULP FICTION, Producer of THE HATEFUL EIGHT) following a screening of RESERVOIR DOGS, also describes why he does not use a monitor when directing a scene, opting instead to direct from "wherever the camera is."
