The first couple of James Bond movies came out around the same time as this show, which was the beginning of the space program. It was a great time to be growing up!

I've always imagined that Benton Quest and Dr. Zin had been roommates at Stanford University, and that their falling out would've been a great backstory.
@daveconleyportfolio5192 Жыл бұрын
I'm OK with that, but I'd place it at MIT. Quest always seemed like a reserved New Englander to me, especially since we know he could ski.
@ArynBendah Жыл бұрын
@@daveconleyportfolio5192 Probably why Jonny Quest was especially popular in my family. Aside from my mom, we're all New Englanders. My mom grew up on JQ just as much, though, out in the Black Hills.

@kerrykeene64712 жыл бұрын
This is not a children's show. Johny Quest was shown in prime time back in 1964/65. The themes were adult oriented, sort of James Bond like. In my opinion, this show should've never been put on Saturday's. It's hard to believe, after nearly sixty years, even the DVDs are edited. There is stuff on cable/satellite and social media that are far more "offensive" than JQ ever was, at least from today's perspective. The violence was tame compared to what kids would soon to see, America's TV war, Vietnam. One of the best features of JQ was the music.

@edljnehan2811 Жыл бұрын
@@Joe-nu9hi we had plenty of X-rated animated cartoons in the seventies. One was called Fritz the Cat he's x-rated and animated. That was the advertisement. You had to go to the adult movie theaters to see those type of cartoons. Trust me I worked downtown at one of those places for a few years. Flesh Gordon was one of our biggest shows. Of course that was well before you tube internet even video cassette recorders.
@clementjohnson2666 Жыл бұрын
Hi Case . I agree with you . Some movie studio "should" make a LIVE ACTION version of Johnny Quest . Perhaps Kelsey Grammer could play Dr . QUEST , DWAYNE THE ROCK JOHNSON could play Race Bannon , Sophia Vergara could play Jade , Ben Kingsley could play the evil Dr . Zynn , some young up & coming actors could play Johnny , and Hadji , also l am of the opinion that the J.Q. SERIES should be based on some of the episodes of J. Quest such as ; The Riddle of the Gold , The Dragons of Aishida , The Fraudulent Volcano , Double Identity , etc , etc . But there should be no more than 5 movies to make the series . Three at the least , five at the most . Make the script writing intelligent ( just like it was in the cartoon) include "State of the Art" gadgetry just as the animated series did , and for the theme music/background music ,let it be done by either Brian Culbertson , or Najee or a collaborative effort from both of these jazz musicians . So what do you think ???? 🤗

5. The Robot Spy4. Shadow of the Condor3. The Sea Haunt2. Mystery of the Lizard Men1. The Invisible MonsterNote that all of these adventures -- and most JQ eps in general -- follow the pattern of a classic "parlour mystery." The good guys are trapped by circumstances in a confined, usually spooky area; all the clues need to solve the mystery are there, and all the action happens there. This was doubtless imposed by the 24-minute format and the expense of animating lots of new backgrounds and meeting many new characters.
