@@zakr1187 alien isolation, i bought a high end pc and headset to play it although i played the full game on flat screen. i only got to the point where the alien could be heard in the headset to realise i made a terrible mistake lol.

Honestly, with Quest Pro 2, if they keep they keep using QLED, but with higher res, more local dimming areas, the new chip from Q3 (or a newer version), the depth sensor, and even more improved passthrough, and it'll be a great headset. If they can get the Pimax Crystal panels, or something comparable, that'd be amazing.

If they can make a Quest playable outside without it breaking the lenses, that would be great. Give us more room to play without furniture and walls etc.

Yes! Our only other current options seem to be a friends large empty basement, a warehouse floor, a closed shopping mall, gymnasium, or outside at night with selected lighting. I could be wrong, but I think it's the UV in sunlight that's the problem (maybe intensity too??)

@@pallidinyou There will probably be a solution eventually, but the issue of playing outside is with vr headsets in general. vr uses cameras to sense your surroundings and motion detection which is projected onto a internal screen. cameras, like magnifying glasses, use convex lenses. exactly what happens to a magnifying glass under the sun happens to vr systems. the cameras will gather the light from the sun, focus it, and burn the vr internals. hopefully i didnt bore you with an explanation, but yea, thats the problem. have a good rest of your day

Kinda weird tho, meta quest doesn't cost 3500$ so why they should even compete if they are not the same price at all. Even if the Apple Vision Pro is much better, it doesn't matter, price is higher. It's good that meta is making progress and trying to add new features and also upgrade old features as well. But it's so funny and ironic, that they need a competition with an Apple and their high priced headset, to be more productive 😂

@@varenzer_h8jk425 apple vision is targeted for big companies and developers to start creating the ecosystem, but there will be iterations, cheaper for public in the future most likely, and Meta knows this. It might not be competition now due to the target audience but it will in the future most likely.

apple and meta arent competing they are focusing on two completely different things. Apples headset is for work whilst meta is focusing mainly on gaming the apple headset isnt a gaming headset so there is no point for meta to even compete because they arent competition@@varenzer_h8jk425

My honest opinion on the new separated tracking on the v63 update is actually pretty damn good! Now when I turn on my quest from shutdown I can use my hands to enter my login pin. I cannot find any option to add portals in my h/e tho. I have tried everything and many of the new test updates you cant even use.

Yes! Adding smell artificially and "on cue" would be a powerful influence on immersion. Also wind, skin sensations, etc. But yes, especially smell, research has found.

I don't understand why the quest 3 hasn't implemented a headset center dot navigation as well. I know that the quest 3 can't track eyes, but you CAN move your head around and then click the controller or pinch your hand to choose what the center dot in the headset is looking at. As it is now, trying to point with hand tracking and pinch is very awkward. Just let me center the dot onto what i want to pinch click by using the headset, thanks. Trying to point to a tiny X to close a window and pinching at the same time is awkward AF.

Its fine with steam VR best to use a USB 3 cable specific for quest or airlink

Yup virtual desktop on quest or steam has a free app you can use to be wireless just have a good PC and good wifi router

@@esmokebabyYea, plus most routers are default on 2.5 gig so you have to enable 5gig in the router settings..i,ve heard the best way is to have a dedicated router for wireless airlink..I think you just connect the second router up to the 1st one the same way you would connect a pc through the ethernet port..correct me if i,m wrong, i,m not 100 percent sure. I,m still looking into it

Also, updates do not roll for everyone at the same time. I had to wait 2 weeks behind alot of people for v61, or v60... whichever one it was.

@@pallidinyou we used the proto type and they had us run through a series of hand movements that registered on pulse and muscle movements so the tech is still a work in progress and the overhead camera read the data for certain movements that would eventually fine tune it. So the hand tracking will get better

That is funny! Negative RT. It does not exist! There will be always a delay from what you think to action via any device or organic matter. It will feel like real time but delay still exist. Remember that organic paths are always slow vs other matters. Even if there is a device that will send data via wireless there will be a delay of encoding and decoding data in both ways. Anyway, VR is cool!

Im sure im not the only one afraid to play Horizon Worlds. If you get banned in horizon worlds they put restrictions on your quest account itself. Im not willing to take that risk.

Nah, full-sized desktop GPU graphics cards will always far exceed what's in any VR headset alone by itself. So you use both like you do now.

Not sure about the Quest 2 Pro since it will fall into the same problem....the Quest 4 will come after it, and just like the Quest 3, will have superior tech....AGAIN. The Pro should not come out FIRST if its suppose to be the more premium headset. I don't get Meta's timeline release with these headsets, they should be reversed.

OLED has high persistence. The blur when you look around in the Vision Pro and PSVR2 is because of OLED. That's why Meta doesn't use them anymore. It's a straight trade off for high contrast.

No. Just NO! There still is no negative latency and it will stay that way until someone finds a way to predict random events in the future instead of predicting predictable events in the future. This new tech does not take finger movements as input but signals from your nervous system. So it's just cutting out more POSITIVE latency from the biological part of the signal chain because some steps in that chain are skipped. That's still NOT negative latency, it's just less positive latency, there won't ever be negative latency, and could we please stop talking about negative latency.

Of course, when you say someting is "negative to the baseline" then everytime you get a shorter latency it's a negative latency. Something can only be smaller than something else, not negative "to" it. That's like deciding that anything under the room temperature baseline of 21ºC is a negative temperature. Suddenly you have liquid water at -10ºC. Thats's not how this works. That's not how any of this works. Latency is a quantifiable magnitude. Just like it's impossible to move as fast or faster than light through space, which is true for both mass and information, you can't have negative latency. That would mean informatin would be received before it was sent. That would break physics. Information can't even travel as fast or faster than light. How should it travel backwards in time? And as soon as you come up with an interpretation where that wouldn't be what "negative latency" means, you wouldn't talk about the same concept of latency anymore, which would make what you say completely meaningless. You could make anything true if you just redefine the meaning of words. Science is important. Respect it and don't bend it to your will. Doing that doesn't end well.
