Quest 3 has lots of quality issues. I see many people on Reddit talking about how they returned 5+ units to get a device without dead/stuck pixels or poorly made lens.

I highly doubt anyone who says they returned 5 units, they must be lying for some reason, maybe the intentional anti-propaganda. But if true, who in their sensible mind keeps giving that many units a chance? Doesn't make sense. Also you won't see a post saying 'I bought a certain product and it works perfectly', there's just no point in posting that, because it's expected to work as intended, therefore you only see an extremely tiny fraction of total users and you should always assume that hundreds of times more cases than those on Reddit have gone well.

How is the customer service for Pico? Good I hope. Meta is fine. But need to work on support. I hope Pico would take the same chipsets for gaming from the Quest 3. Otherwise I'd switch over. Does Pico over heat at all? And do they uphold their warranty?

Pico doesnt have the same chip the meta chip is much more powerfully and sadly customer support isnt the best on both.

If you live in Europe then you could get the pico 4 for around 300 euros but the quest 3 costs around 550 eur for us.

I only use PCVR so I have no need to upgrade my Pico 4 will be the Pico 5 Pro Max is the specs are real. Gonna need a 5090 to go with it, hopefully around the same time. Going to be interesting having every Unreal 5 games in vr thanks to UEVR. 😎

i am coming from 2019 lenovo explorer with display port cable, as pc only gamer the bigger metaquest store doesnt interest me ( also not the pico store), for me important was the weight and the display quality, i tested both when my lenovo broke and decided the pico4 as the controllers fits better for my hands with the rings also it can hang around your fingers, and i bought the 128gb version for only 350 $ as i dont want all the extra stuff like AR and standalone so even the price is much better and my vpn also doesnt let me connect to failbook anymore :)

Some of the straps are like the Bobovr M3 Pro strap. It's amazing and comfortable and much cheaper then the quest 3 default elite strap. It also has built in battery up to 3+ extra hours!

I'll take the better LCDs in the PICO 4 any day. And I play all PC VR where the PICO 4 with virtual desktop really shines and pretty nullifies any library advantage the quest 3 may have. Currently playing HL Alyx and it looks and plays fantastic on the PICO 4. If I ever upgrade, it would be to one of the pro headsets.

I had the Pico4 and switched to the Quest 3. But only because I play sports games competitively and I need the 120 hz and always fast updates). The Quest 3 is a bit better everywhere except for the price and the comfort (even with Elitestrap, because it's lighter and the weight is nicely distributed). There are 3 groups I recommend the Pico 4 to In PCVR they are almost at eye level (Quest 3 slightly better), but since the comfort and price is significantly better, I would go for the Pico 4 (+Virtual Desktop) for pure PCVR. Even pure sports gamers (unless you play competitively) will have more fun with the Pico 4, due to the better wearing comfort and because the graphics are second-rate And casual gamers who don't need a huge game library and have to watch their money when buying. Ultimately, the Quest 3 is the better, more sophisticated headset and if money is no object, I would always choose it over the Pico 4. If it does, I would recommend the Pico 4 to the groups mentioned above.

Do you mean that the graphics are better on the Q3 than P4? I'm overthinking upgrading from P4 to Q3 lol, because of its better decoding capabilities compared to the older CPU on P4, especially for PCVR combined with a 4090 card, so fidality and image quality is all for me.. I've heard somewhere that the screen door effect is more noticeable on the Q3! Is this true? I also heard that Samsung, Lenovo, and Xbox are working on new VR headsets. Well, it would be the wisest decision just to wait for the new headsets to come, lol 😆. Again, I'm just curious about the panel quality difference between P4 and Q3.

@@metalcrow6306 I'm not the best person to talk to about that because I almost only play standalone games these days. The graphics of the Q3 are significantly better in standalone operation. I didn't notice any noticeable difference with PCVR, although I don't have the hardware to play everything at the highest setting/resolution. I wouldn't switch for pure PCVR. For pure PCVR there are also cheaper glasses or glasses with higher resolution/FOV, for example from Pimax

​@disarstar9179 No worries man, appreciate your reply. The only problem with the Pimax is its poor software support compared to their pricy prices.. Thanks for the suggestion though. I guess I'll be keeping my Pico for now until new cheap headsets come in the near future. Add to that I've just found a method where you can play oculus games on pico through Virtual Desktop using the PC's hardware! And it sounds crazy lol, will be trying it soon when I have time. So no need really for a Quest 3 for sure.

Honestly, considering pico 4 is almost half the price of quest 3, it kinda seems like quest 3 is a scam. The only good thing I can tell that the quest 3 has is a better processor and a depth sensor, which honestly is not really important as someone with a pico 4. the cpu that the pico uses can run most games, even blade and sorcery, at a smooth 90hz without jittering.

I am testing P4 vs Q3. I wish P4 could have Q3 lenses. More FOV, more details, more brightness. But Q3 not comfortable, heave on front. Also P4 has horrible reflection from bright vs darker scene! I guess will return both and will keep P3. Unlucky there won't be PICO5 😕

I dont know man, i'm not convinved. Pico 4 has better visual/ clarity then meta quest 3. More comfortable. I'm more interested in playing games. how responsive it is and the clarity, the rest is just marketing. So that would make pico 4 a better choice right ?

I'm having a Pico 4 since months and I'm having a blast. Make sure to have good internet first though. I'm doing mostly PCVR. One thing you need is to buy the AMVR thing more confortable. And yeah VD and you're set. The FOV is so good and the SDE is pretty minimal

The Pico 4 is currently 380 euros in Europe and 545 for the Quest 3. For PC VR only the Pico 4 is the best. Of course it is less better than the Quest 3. It came out before. As for the games. On Android you can play anything. I saw a guy playing Asgard's Wrath on Pico 4. Yeah yeah it's not legal blablabla

​@@VRelity To be honest I bought a used Pico 4 for 260 euros. Added AMVR head thing. I have a 5M USB C cable that I use to charge the headset while I play. The FOV is amazing and the SDE is very minimal. Compared to my Rift S. And plus, I can't feel the headset. So yeah, if MQ3 was cheaper I would have took the MQ3 because of the hype but damn the Pico 4 does more than the job. I'm having a blast with it. I don't regret a thing. Especially that I do only PCVR mostly. And in the Pico 4, it took litteraly 1 minute to Sideload the thing, there's litteraly no protection for that. So yeah, it's 1 shame that they are forbidden to sell it in the USA. I'm playing on Godmode with a 3060ti and I don't see any artefacts

At least Meta waited 3 years before releasing the Quest 3 so it didn't piss off it's customer base. A year and a half since the Pico 4 was released is too short of a time frame to release an entirely new model. Their customers JUST got the headset and it's still not polished yet. They have a LOT of work to do on the Pico 4 still. They shouldn't just jump ship to a brand new headset model like that. I knew when the Pico 4 came out it would not be on top for long at all and only the high resolution screens were worth buying the headset, but for everything else, Meta had the better ownership experience overall. No matter what Pico comes out with, Meta is just too far ahead right now for it to matter. Quest 3 is DEFINITELY the best VR headset when compared to the Pico 4. No doubt about it.

You will get disappointed if you buy quest 3 for mixed reality. The camera looks like old webcam. Rather than buy quest 3,buy pico 4 instead, the camera quality is same and the lens also pancake and I believe pico 4 lens more wide and will not get you nausea.

This was a known issue that users had really bad "blowout" and blurry passthrough, however, a KZbinr found out that if they did a reset back to factory and setup their Quest 3 AGAIN, the clarity would increase EXPONENTIALLY. You may need to try the Meta Quest 3 passthrough again after it has been reset back to factory. You will notice a major difference in clarity and quality of the passthrough cameras.
