Im a bit old. I went to a skate park about 10 years ago. Only about 3 times. I just wanted to drop in on the big bowl, and once i did it a few times i didnt go back. But no lie, i wore proper articlated motocross shin and knee pads, a dianese body armour jacket, proper mororbike gloves, and a full face helmet. Because A i am chicken B i could not afford an injury as my job requires full mobility C i knew a guy who just slipped on his board at the base of a ramp and it took him months to walk again from the TBI and like he pretty much couldnt do any mental or physical work for more than a few hours due to his brain injury. Although i looked dumb at the skate park, being as old as most kids dads, and fully arnoured up like a dirt bike rider, and doing lame stuff, i was kinda shocked almost non of the kids or teens on bmx or skateboard wore lids or any pads at all. And it was a full concrete park. And i saw a few pretty bad wipeouts. Not saying you should wear a lid, but if you do wipeout and hit your head and you are alone, it could suck.
