You can find 20 fr gold coin with Napoléon I, Napoléon III, Louis XVIII, Louis Philippe, le génie debout, and those Marianne coq. Just in France. Many other countries made 6.45g gold coins, like Netherlands, Tunisia, Belgium, Switzerland, and many more...

I got my first 1947 Helvitia 20 Swiss Franc, minted in Bern, a few weeks ago. It's not a restrike like others from after WWII. Mine looks great. I love the old 90%. It's set in a gold ring. I'm gonna start stacking. It's real money.

So many good reasons to own these including 1. low premium cost 2. beauty 3. variety 4. inflation hedge 5. quality - most have zero wear 6. fractional size - If you need a little cash to tide you over just sell one or two or three and not have to cash in a whole ounce. I just ordered another 20 franc Napoleon III I will show it on my next video.

18+ ounces of Gold isn't something to sneeze at. That's pretty impressive. I'm just trying to fill a tube of forty 1/4 ounce Gold Eagles, and it's taking forever. On the bright side, I only have a few more left to go, so I can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel. Looks like $44,000 to $45,000 in value on the high end, and $39,000 to $40,000 on the low end. Yeah, anyone not saving something regularly in precious metals, given the circumstances in the United States, is taking a massive risk in my opinion. Great example for everyone else...thanks for sharing!

The gold 20 Franc germinal or Napoléon is an excellent choice for stackers, because it can still often be found for very reasonable premiums compared to other gold coins. It’s a very recognizable denomination, and because it was struck by so many countries for so long, it can satisfy both your stacking and collecting needs. Interestingly enough, the gold Napoléon continues to be minted, even today. The Austrian Mint still mints gold 10- and 20-Franc coins, all of them restrikes with the date 1892 on them. They are struck according to the LMU Franc germinal standard (just like the original Napoléons), but carry dual denominations: 10-Francs/4-Gulden (also known as Florin or Guilders) 20-Francs/8-Gulden

My apologies for the late response - Just checked - The 20 Franc gold coins can be had today for about 5% above spot price. The least expensive 1/4 ounce gold coin I could find in 24K was running about 10% above spot price. Many of the 20 francs I have acquired at only 4% above spot. To me (as a stacker not a collector) it's pretty easy math - if I am paying 5% more to acquire a 1/4 ounce piece than these 20 franc coins then it just makes sense to buy the 20 francs. One last question, why 90% gold with lower premium is better than 24k which is pure gold given the fact that 90% gold has 10% copper. Somehow in my mind 90% gold isn't gold . I only like to stack philharmonics because I hate people's face on coins, so I prefer musical instruments.

In 1913 an ounce of gold was worth $18.92. $1,000,000 of gold would be 52,854.12 ounces. So at .1867 of an ounce a gold franc would value in dollars about $3.42 in 1913. Interesting question! Yes, I would prefer to have a wider variety of these. However, I am a stacker, not a collector. So I buy the most gold I can for the least amount of money. The ones that would be interesting to have also have a higher premium cost, so I don't buy them.
