@FreshReviewsYT

Oh man now that is one tough call. The mmx300 are absolutely fantastic as well. They’re closed back so the sound stage isn’t as expansive. The sound is definitely closer. Directional audio is fantastic. They’re great for tac shooters but I feel the tygrs can get the job done too. If I had to pick I’d go tygr between the two

Hey Fresh, first of all love the videos you've earned a new subscriber! You've pretty much convinced me to get the HD 560s with a mod mic since I mostly play the games that you refer to when testing them. You've probably answered this like a million times already but I was wondering if there are any other dacs/amps that you would recommend that are a bit cheaper than the ARC Mk2?

Coming back to your videos again. Been using the tygr 300r but overtime it feels like their soundstage is much narrower than i realized. The cheap superlux hd 668b have much better staging that i preferred but no bass at all. Some type of combination would be great for me. Good neutral sound with imaging and massive soundstage without breaking the bank. 560s soundstage was narrow for me as well.

Thanks for the review. One thing to keep in mind with AKG headphones: I've had two on the K7 series. Both have clear plastic parts connecting headband to elastic band and they've broken on both headphones. They're not structurally essential, but still annoying at their pricepoint. Otherwise amazing cans for gaming.

With minimal eq the tonal balance sounds lovely acroos the whole spectrum. with recessed mids and bass is nice tight and authoritive and running them off an xduo 05 plus. These are phenominal, just did some a b with my he400se and they sound awful in comparison. I was gonna pick up a meze 109 pro but i think il save 600 hundred quid. I see some people commenting that the sundara is not good for gaming? I disagree, I think the sundara are great for gaming! I've tried the sundara vs dt 1990pro I preferred the sundara. I use dolby atmos surround with harman target EQ by oratory1990 with reduced bass from 5.5db to 0db and increased airiness 0.5db for gaming atm, I recommen to try the same settings. my kd is 4.05 in apex so I'm a decent player, last headphones was sennheiser momentum 2 so it was a huge upgrade for me.. there are pro players that use 50$ IEMs and gaming headsets, so I think we can adapt to most headphones. but I'm curious what your opinion are! how the sundara compares to these headphones in this video and maby hd800s, Audio-Technica ATH-AD2000X, ATH-AD900X or some cheaper headphones like the philips fidelio x2hr. and if its worth to buy a new pair of headphones only for competetive fps shooters
@PantsaBear
@PantsaBear 3 жыл бұрын
Its not bad for gaming, I find that it just has a slight haze sound to the mids which make music less clear, and the brightness, while not piercing, gets in the way of other sounds you could be hearing. If you're comparing to the DT1990, then yeah you probably picked the better or at least as good option depending on your preferences. I own a Sundara, and while I can understand their appeal, I think they're not good universal headphones for competitive/single player/most music as others make them out to be. Prefer my AKG K712 much more for any kind of gaming and a good amount of genres

For me it was between the Beyerdynamic DT880, the AKG K712 Pro and the Sennheiser HD 560S. I was sure it would be the K712 for me but surprisingly I really disliked the sound. Meanwhile I fell in love with the 560S. I really liked the DT880 too but the closer soundstage and sharper highs made it more fatiguing to listen to and I didn't feel like it had as good imaging either.

I have the k712, k7XX , tygr300r and PC38X and I have mainly 2 combos, the qudelix 5k (for the pc38x) and jdslabs Atom dac + amp. Not gonna lie, the sennheiser are gaming beast and i put them over the tygrs not just for being easier to drive and the mic, but also it has a similar bass and show footsteps easily, but k712 are HD800s levels of detail with a good amp, making it good also for music. Im pretty sure that hd560s thats sits right in the middle but since those are so neutral it makes them boring in comparison, but easily a recommendation over the well established dt990. Consider watch DMS hd560s vs hd6xx vs tygr300r, it has a similar comparison but is focused on music Short story: HD800 > HD800s > k712 pro > hd560s = pc38x > tygr300r = dt990 > k7XX Ps: tygr300r uses the same driver as dt990 32ohm and making it immediately similar to dt1990 pro.

Interesting take and thorough, yet concise review. As someone that happens to own both the 712 and the TYGRs for some time I definitely share most of your views, I feel the bass quality (not quantity) of the AKG 712 definitely exceeds that of the TYGR however (haven't tried the 560S). IMO it also reaches deeper into subbass territory. Both are great headphones for the price, but they aren't flawless either. Despite the gel pads and the light construction, the 712s definitely aren't as comfortable as the TYGR 300R. The TYGR 300R are very comfy, fun to listen to and have great imaging for the price, but they definitely lack that bit of resolution. I got my AKG 712 for 199€ here in Europe.. looking on AMZN US, 360$ is quite steep in comparison. Haven't tried the 560S and probably won't (afaik they're not as euphonic and/or resolving as the other cans and I also use these to listen to music), but they're definitely a nice addition from SEINheiser.. scnr ;) gotta meditate and practice your ZEN after these gaming sessions. Cheers

Hey, love your reviews Man, I'm looking for the best Headphone I can get under 200€ (so without an amp) for competitive fps + music and video listening, and 2 of them seems to get praised so I can't decice. The HD560S and this TYGR 300 R. I want them to be as comfortable as possible (I wear glasses) over long sessions of gaming (I read the sennheiser were not that comfortable, is it true?). I play mostly Overwatch, Valorant, and some BR like Apex and Fortnite. I'm looking for the most precise directionnal audio possible. Is the more neutral sound signature of the HD560S better compared to the more "bassy" Tygr? Or do you think the sound profile of the TYGR makes it clear enough to ear everything happening at the same time despite the bass (especially footsteps)? Which do you think will suit me best and will they run good without an amp? Thank you so much if you take the time to respond.

I just got the tygrs and I think it does well for gaming, it reminds me of a good dt1350 but I don't feel the soundstage is really large. I feel like they're just average. Not much bigger than my naked, balanced hd58x. When using the tygr with SE input via LCX+SDAC I felt it had more of a soundstage that I could tell what was coming from where. When using it with my balanced adapter, it brought the mids closer and presented a bit of a flatter sound. I could hear a lot of nuances are present but the soundstage than became more of a flat plane and a wall of sound rather than placement and distance. I like both ways of using it, I prefer the balance for music, but when playing games, the SE input was better. I want a larger soundstage and will go for the HD8XX.

However, now I feel like I need to know whether the 560s is better than the Beyerdynamic Tygr 300 R when it comes to directional sound. I play Rainbow Six Siege competitively and from time to time CSGO, Battlefield and Apex casually. Would you choose the 300r over the 560s? Which one would your rather give the edge to?
@FreshReviewsYT
@FreshReviewsYT 3 жыл бұрын
Really tough call. Comes down to whether you like a v type sound signature like the 300r has. The 560s so a better job keeping the sound neutral and clear to hear things while a lot is going on. The tygr 300 though has fantastic directional audio with a little bit added bass and “fun” to the sound. I actually haven’t tried the 560s yet in rainbow. Also, if at all interested I have a video coming soon of the harmonicdyne Zeus. I think I put the Zeus above both but they’re an extra $150
