Quest For The Stanley Cup Episode 7 (2019)

Episode seven takes viewers through Games 5, 6 and 7 of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final. The action opens in Boston with Game 5 and the anticipation surrounding Bruins captain Zdeno Chara’s return to the lineup after suffering a broken jaw in Game 4. The Blues steal a 2-1 win on the road and a 3-2 series lead with a two-point performance by center Ryan O’Reilly and goalie Jordan Binnington’s 32 saves.
O’Reilly takes the cameras to his St. Louis home for some outdoor activities with his young son, Jameson, and his wife, Dayna, who reveals that O'Reilly predicted the Blues would win the Stanley Cup soon after his acquisition from the Buffalo Sabres.
Viewers will be treated to exciting and insightful mic’d up content on the ice from the players, coaches and officials in the Bruins’ 5-1 win in Game 6 in St. Louis to take the series back to Boston for Game 7.
The episode and series conclude in Boston with the first Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Final since 2011 and the first in Boston in the Bruins’ 95-year history. Fans get an incredible glimpse inside the wall-to-wall intensity on the ice and in the dressing rooms during the game, and a front-row seat to the Blues’ exhilaration in capturing their first Stanley Cup championship in their 52-year history and the stirring and emotional celebration shared between the players, coaches and their families.

I think most of us are still processing it all. Just 6 months ago almost all of us expected the team to get stripped down and rebuilt. Absolute madness. It was just a perfect storm. Divine intervention on some level.

I'm not a Blues fan, I didn't care if they won or lost, but I was cheering for them because there is nothing I despise more in sports right now than a Boston sports fan. Boston was a terrible sports town for decades but since their recent run of success, there is nothing more arrogant or insufferable than a Boston sports fan. It's sad what most Boston sports fans have turned into over the last 15 years. I cheer against Boston in any sport and will likely do so for the next decade because they were such pricks when they won.
