Sick of our motorhome awning being filled with bugs & flys we decided to buy a Quest Kills Double Action Lantern & Insect Killer from the National Camping Show. Lets test it out and see what it can do.

I bought 1 of these from Amazon They do work well,ok they may not kill everything in your awning (during the day while going in and out) but leave it on in the van over night while you sleep and get up to see the results in the morning, I put mine somewhere I can’t see the blue light when going to bed. I’d recommend it 👍👍👍 Ps keep a hold of the wee brush

It’s a good zapper needed for mosquitoes 🦟,flies and the rest of the bugs that get into your space.., I think is good for travels , a good light Dan .. a bit sharing on the eyes..I agree with Mazzy. Thanks for sharing 🥰, great product, thanks for the review.

I have 2 of these identical but branded "Outdoor Revolution". They were under a tenner each. I'm relatively happy though would only use the light if the van lights fail. I have one in the loo overnight with only the insect killer on which gives enough dim light to "do your business" but still enough to attract and zap any bugs inside the van, the other I leave in the awning overnight which reduces the morning bug count nicely (though not 100%)

I got mine from aldi for a tenner. Its a cold white light that it gives off. I prefer warm white as its easier on the eyes. Still ok for a tenner though

Hopefully you'll pop up an update with how hot it gets with just the bug zapper, and if you get some long rainy nights how it does with the light on. I think the light is a very white light, you're probably looking for a warmer in color temperature light. If it just kills bugs, it is a definite must have for campers and RV'ers.

I just bought one of those a few days ago. Different brand but exact same design except that yellow mesh part on yours is white on mine. It's called iGlow. I gave it as a gift to someone who sits outside next to a forest. I thought I'd give it a week before I ask them if it has successfully defended against any mosquitos.

This light is "Cool White". Dan, what you're describing that you would prefer is "Warm White". In my opinion the Rolls Royce of lights has to be Warm White and High CRI - an example of this is a Sofirn LT1 lantern

Your new led lamp is a cool white and that other you have is a warm light, I always think a cool light is a lot cleaner light. The colour of the insect light is similar to what you see in a butcher's shop or other food shop. Think its UV.

I have two of these lights as Dan demonstrtaes. works well and kills bugs. The latest model has a built in solar charger as well as USB charger. Both models were no where near as expensive as paid. Im in Austraia and they cost $20 from Aldi. Around ten pounds!

You’re both right but Dan is less right that Mazzi. The winged Crane Fly not Dragon Fly Dan, is known as a Daddy Longlegs www.wildlifetrusts.org/wildlife-explorer/invertebrates/flies/daddy-longlegs Dan was referring to Harvestmen without wings which are also known as Daddy Longlegs.

Great review looks like a good product you're right Mazzy it''s a sharp white light not good for looking at. As opposed to a warm white light which is better for the eyes and more light a normal filament bulb. Don't be looking into the ultra violet light for long as it's harmful to you're eyes so you wouldn't want it any bigger, bugs are attracted to the ultra violet light and then are electrocuted on the wire mesh. I would turn off the bright light on the bottom when you hang it up at night it will be ok because otherwise the flies will be drawn more to the bright part on bottom that's how my bug catcher was anyway.

Was looking at one of these but i agree about the light and i reckon better ones are out there. I reckon if you want a light and bug killer buy one that does each job rather then one that does both. Nice review..👍👍👍👍

Try tying a cord or string to the two straps on either side of the ceiling, letting it sag down so you can have the bug/light hanging from it and you can make it as low as you want that way. Brilliant idea of combining the light with a bug killer! Can you replace the light bulb (?) down the road if it burns out? If so, maybe you could replace the bulb with a soft LED light. you get flies etc in your house etc , cover my mouth and nose and use fly spray, or you could use sticky tale and hang it up where the light is and all the flies stick to it or another put copper money in a water plastic bag and hang it outside, I found that on KZbin. enjoy video, interesting.

It's a cool light, nearer the blue end. I think what you'd prefer is a warm light, nearer the yellow. The difference between what you'd put in the bathroom and the bedroom I guess. I ALWAYS advocate keeping away from children.
