Keep in mind though, they only tried the new decks against each other. They didn't test them against the already existing top tier meta decks. We have no idea whether these decks are actually good or not, unless we test them against Warrior, Conjurer Mage, Mech Hunter, Token Druid, etc.

@Smooth_One if you have seen the card reviews, we'd be pretty much expecting priest to pop up everywhere. Plus they have insane amounts of card draw and generation mechanics. So yea, against priest, paladin kinda suck. And paladin got the worse card pool this expansion....

Sternritter uhh idk what you’re saying but the priest cards suck. The quest is slow and the reward is useless without being ahead on board. Eventually you will run out of buff targets and be out valued. The paladin hero power is way better, generating infinite minions as long as you get one to stick, plus deathrattles and reborn are sticky anyways which further synergises with it. What does priest get other than the quest? Amet otk is a meme with priests unreliable card draw, and zoo priest will be a worse version of other zoo decks/aggro. I can’t even think of a deck that would play the plague btw, it’s way too slow and even quest priest wouldn’t run it. Priest looks to be getting a bunch of subpar tempo decks this expansion, but has no existing tempo archetype to build into. I highly doubt the new Uldum cards alone will give priest a good new archetype especially considering how bad they are in general. At least many of the paladin cards could slot into existing mech decks and the hero power is pretty insane in said deck. While priest’s quest reward is strong on paper, practically it’s too slow to pull off and there are not enough good cards to support a deck using it yet...

Quests are one card that beasts other decks 80% of the time, this scream rock paper scissor meta to me. I hope it doesn't end like with the old quests that didn't see any play whatsoever unless you beat control reliably with those since when the meta gets figured out starting with one less card and no turn 1 play will lose you the game.

Chuck Fresco I wouldn't run to craft it unless you really just love paladin just yet. He was going up against 2 really bad decks and drew relatively well. It could turn out like a plot twist warlock which looked cool and OP, but ended up with 36% win rate.

I agree it's best not to craft right away. All of the games being shown with the new cards are games against other experimental decks that have yet to be refined. If the new meta returns to it's usual aggro board control centered gameplay then this type of deck may struggle to keep minions alive that are worthwhile duplicating. May also start getting traction too late in the game compared to other decks but we'll see.

I can't say for sure it'll be competitive - there's a lot of strong stuff coming when the set hits in a few days - but the MechanoEgg interaction is basically what made me think this quest would have potential in standard. Worst case scenario, you drop the egg on turn 5 without even having a completed quest - and they still have to consider destroying it and giving you an 8/8 (for 5), lest you finish your quest the next turn and start getting basically a slightly better Mechanical Whelp each turn. I don't think people should underestimate a quest that basically strongarms your opponent into letting you have an 8/8 for 5 (or tries to ignore it and potentially lets you win the game off it).

Interesting! What happens when your opponent uses Plague of Murlocs or Plague of Death on those Mechano-eggs though? The deck kind of relies on snowballing. If your opponents puts a wrench in it that and takes the board while you lack anymore resources to actually take advantage of your hero power, it's gonna be tough out there

They will often "don't" when you are against something like double battlecry insanity shaman and stuff like that. Not saying it's bad at all, but is it as insane as portrayed in the video? Meh.
