I set up two IR emitters in my play area and play un the dark without any light blockers installed. More comfortable and zero light leakage.

Could you share the link with me? I'd like to buy them

@@evidenceplz These are the ones I bought but there are many options: Tendelux 120ft IR Illuminator | BI8 . I also bought a couple Amazon echo plugs to turn them on and off. Finally, I noticed that the tiny power supply was getting very hot, so I replaced them with these: DONYOIE 12V 1A Power Supply 12 Volt Charger 1000mA 12W Max Regulated Switching AC to DC Cord Adapter. The barrel connector is a perfect fit for the VR emitters. They seem to work best when you install them diagonally to your play area (i.e., one to your front left and the other to your rear right) at the same level as the headset. Last note is that with the Pro, unlike the Quest 2, your passthrough will not be illuminated by the emitters. I have had the setup for a few days and it works great. I love not having to have the silicone gasket pushing against my face. Note that you may have to redraw your Guardian with the lights out which is a bit tricky. Good luck.

One more thing, I found that mounting them each about 10 feet away from where I stand works best. If you put them much closer, they can overwhelm the headset with their brightness.

I've owned the Quest 2, 3 and Pro and still enjoy the Pro the best...particularly with no light blocker since its mostly for fitness. I think someone should make a tinted light blocker either from glass or some kind of plastic/polymer. That should reduce most of the glare while still allowing you a natural awareness of your surroundings.

I guess we will have 3d printed versions in the near future

There already is one on Thingiverse, btw. Don't remember the name, pops up for "Quest Pro" search. Instead of the "normal" shape, it is just 2 tubes that attach around the lenses, which I expect to be better, but haven't tried yet.

You need to adjust the lenses... you could tremendously increase your FOV by moving the lenses close and almost eliminate ANY glare. Your lenses are very obviously not extended.

I love the visual quality they deliver with the pancake lenses, but I cant believe a device with this price tag is so poorly designed

I haven’t seen any - I thought vrcover may have brought something out but nothing. I wonder if the market isn’t big enough maybe
@pedroarraztoa27892 жыл бұрын
But istead of charging in the base, can you charge it on the plug on the side?
@EatSleepVR2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can

That is really unfortunate
