Nice and neat wee gazebo Trev, we used to have a Kyham awning, which you could put up by yourself, the bag it came with looked like a body bag it was that big.. but we loved that awning, when we eventually got one that fitted the van ha ha

5 years on and we’ve just invested in one of these, the Screen House 4 Pro. Going to use it instead of our main awning on short trips and going to put it to test on the Isle of Wight next week. Nice bit of kit 👍👍 Mike

Ah yes, the new pro model is much better than ours. The sides are attached and this helps when it’s windy. I don’t think you’ll de disappointed as it’s a great piece of kit for the money. It is useful but not fully waterproof. I used on the Isle of Mull where the rain was horizontal and mostly things inside remained dry but it did drip a lot. The front privacy cover blew off in the wind and I ended up keeping it on with safety pins. As you say it’s a summer thing.

Great demonstration! Question: what happens if it rains?
@PoshcatsCamping3 жыл бұрын
We have used it in the wind and rain. It will withstand fairly strong winds and heavy rain. It is shower proof and you can also use additional sealant spray just like an awning. We have found that it’s best for the summer months and will not be as good as a quality awning for example. However, the cost, easy storage and putting up makes up for it and we only take it with us in our campervan if we think we will need it. Hope that helps. 🙂 Trev

@PoshcatsCamping4 ай бұрын
It’s a little like wrestling with an octopus until you can see which is the roof and the sides. If you pop the roof out first, then each of the sides, it should hold its shape. Zip up the door to make sure you peg the base into a square so the door can be opened and closed. The first couple of times you put it up are a challenge but usually with two people, it isn’t too complicated 🙂 Trev

Hi Trev could you tell me if the sites class as awning or gazebo especially when booking as I’ve noticed some sites say no gazebos. Thanks Ian . We bought ours last week because of your channel , great content and very enjoyable keep up the great work.
@PoshcatsCamping5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comments. We understand that sites that specifically say no gazebos normally refer to those with metal legs that are not fixed to the van but can lift from the ground in strong winds and cause damage to other nearby vehicles. This risk is eliminated by the lightweight fibre poles in this product. However I suggest it is best to contact the site if they state no gazebos and check with them. We know there are no issues with Caravan and Motorhome Club and Caravan and Camping Club sites. 😀 Trev

One common complaint I’ve seen with a lot of these kind of canopy’s is that it doesn’t get a lot of air flow cause of the mesh sides and that it gets incredibly hot inside on sunny days. Is that the for this one as well?

Hi, we don’t put it under the bed we lay it on the floor centre of van until we arrive at site. Poshcats Camping Thanks, Trevor. I think either is great! Want to get one after my last awning used to take me 30-60 mins to put up!
@liz-ou4sv Жыл бұрын
Are you allowed to use these on site?
@PoshcatsCamping Жыл бұрын
Most sites allow them these days. They have lightweight fibre poles so it’s unlikely that damage would occur if they blow over, unlike old style metal framed gazebos. It is acceptable in most places to use them in the same way as you would use a drive away awning. The club sites allow them and we have never been challenged by a privately owned site but we do keep the Screenhouse close to the motorhome or Campervan so that it is acting as an awning and not a stand alone structure. If in doubt, check with the site before you book. Always peg the Screenhouse down to keep it safe. I hope that helps. 😃🚐 Trev

@PoshcatsCamping3 жыл бұрын
Quite easy but you must remember to take the two poles out that form the entrance or the rest of the screen house will not collapse. Once the roof and sides are pulled in, the whole thing can be put into the long bag. It’s good to have two people but it can be done alone. 🙂 Trev
