Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the subjectivity of audio quality. It does make a lot of sense, that our first layer of analysis is on broader strokes (whether the sound is significantly "off-curve" or have some glaring ringing issues), and only if that layer of issues disappear, can we begin to pick up the more textural characters of the headphones.

My experience is that the hd660 is less than the HD600 and HD650. They compromised power, but all it got more is cables. Not worth it in my opinion. Rather get the HD600 or HD 650, lower in price now and better.

New Sigmund Freud I don't think it's because of the impedance. I don't take everything from tyll. From my knowledge and observation, it's because of the tuning materials like damping materials and diaphragm itself instead of the coil. Impedance does not make this much difference. Or let's take an analogy focal must be all shit right? But no. Impedance is just a little bit of the whole spectrum. I believe it's because of the tuning/damping materials. Let's see people modding 660s, if that will make a difference.

I do and sometimes it can be 10 and 20 times. For example, if you compare something top notch like the utopia headphones to quarter million dollar speakers, the price ratio is pretty high.

Hey Tyll.. One question, Do you change volume when you are testing headphones?. Do you have the DAC at a fixed point or do you try to get a fixed SPL? I feel like it makes a big difference on how the headphone sound, Especially on my Elear cans (which I hope aren’t the ones you are referring to in the video)

He said it won't be on the wall of fame as long as he initially thought it would due to his specific review unit being different. This doesn't mean it's getting knocked off by another current product because he thinks the more representative unit which received later still is worthy of the position on the WOF, just not as good as his initial specimen.
