Fantastic discussion. I’m very interested in the idea of “this mountain” being the temple. Notice what we find very near the text in Isaiah which Jesus has just quoted: Isaiah 56:7 “...these I will bring to my holy MOUNTAIN and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for MY HOUSE will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” I think when Mark’s Jesus quotes tanakh, he wants the reader to look back and see the text surrounding the quoted passage.

No, the church is there to lead people to first salvation and then santification leading to theosis through contemplation, stillness, silence and life styles leading towards that goal.

Mark ! couldn't have known any of this probably wasn't even born ,mark a follower of paul who also never knew jesus, paul imagination created a new religion of institutional church and the teaching of jesus is buried in the fantasy imagination of gospel writers and church fathers.

It's called religious writing bud. It's a literary genre from the ancient world. It's not supposed to be reportage as we think of it today, and it never claims to be. Believe it or not, religious people do understand this
