On the panel, from the Labour government, Lucy Powell MP, who is leader of the House of Commons; Graham Stuart MP, who was a minister in the previous Conservative government; the former leader of the Liberal Democrats, Tim Farron MP; the economist Mariana Mazzucato; and the columnist Jill Kirby. They need to change the format of this show - It's pointless just listening to the panel criticising each-other, They need to be brainstorming solutions and listening to the audience input to improve the system.

Keir Starmer did not declare the gifts at beginning, he only started to declare when he had to stop receiving gifts, when he was found out to have been receiving gifts in the first place. He has received gifts more than most primeministers. Also scrapping of the Rwanda plan was silly at best because at least the consevatives had a plan even if it wasn't really good. Labour on the other hand didn't have a plan and still don't have a plan to deport illegal or in starmers way irregular immigrants. Even though they say they will and smash the gangs which they are not doing. Because the gangs will find otherways of getting around it.

I think the Rwanda plan could be useful as a deterrent, but not in the way the Tories planned to use it. Rwanda could have been kept to send those who failed the asylum claim, but for whatever reason could not be deported back to the country of origin.

I'm saying for the ones whose claim fails (i.e. those who are found to be economic migrants and not genuine asylum seekers), those could be deported to Rwanda if they have no documentation and country of origin cannot be determined.
