Yes brilliant bouts of truth from the NHS Victor. Would be a great way forward when the NHS treat the people who are living in unhealthy accommodation and send the bill to the unscrupulous landlords. Another way is when people are treated within private health care post op and an infection occurs the patient is then packed off to the NHS and the NHS tax payer pays the bill. The cost should be sent to the private health care who caused the infection to occur. Time the tax payer and the NHS refused to be the go to when private care or private sector do wrong or go belly up. Much savings to be had if those who are responsible paid up. Our public services and the tax payer would benefit greatly if it was the case.

Being out of work has been shown in psychological studies over and over again to be one of the main socioeconomic determinants of depression and is associated with significantly poorer mental health outcomes and increased suicidality. There are several studies that show a direct correlation between gaining employment and subsequent decrease in depressive symptoms.
@rohancassidy2402

From past experience, I have to agree. He was saying that people need genuine support and care to get them back to work. 99% of people want to work. Self care etc can only get you so far, and I agree for some people, that is adequate. People on long term sick who would like to get back out there are sometimes thwarted by lack of quality, professional care and support.
@thutch9537
@thutch9537 Ай бұрын
@@rohancassidy2402 I think that is true, many individuals need care and healing before they can return to work; however, working, having purpose, contributing to society, sharing with colleagues, being productive, etc. are all important elements in the fruitful life of an individual and conducive to good mental health. There is no quick fix to the problems created by COVID (and life in general) but treating every self-diagnosing person as depressed or anxious is, I think, counter-productive and also detrimental to the health of the country in many ways.

@roadiemullet Ай бұрын
Because they don't have a clue as how act normally. I've long noticed the strange gestures, including the weird fist/thumb point gesture that's supposed to be a less aggressive form of pointing or some such rubbish. These are all things PR agents train them to do but the result is an obviously awkward and unnatural chain of body movements that is copied from one Tory to the next, because they have zero contact with any normal people so nobody ever tells them how ridiculous they look. I'm not being hyperbolic either; their world really does consist of only other Tories and rich elites from the same schools and they all have the same behaviour. This is also the reason so many of them have bizarre styles of hair and dress that is out of touch with modern society. Take Rees Mogg as an obvious example. They live in a world apart.

Sadiq Khan’s, to reduce pollution by expanding the ULEZ to greater London is not working. He doesn’t really care about pollution and air quality and here is why: - He has already increased pollution and made London the slowest moving city in the world, it’s far worse now since he introduced the LTN’s which have increased pollution on the main roads because we are forced to use them as there are no other alternatives, especially during rush hour. The roads are now grid locked with traffic moving at walking pace and the fumes are getting denser and not dispersing because of it. LTN’s need to be reopened as it is causing more damage than good. Among all this, the mileage in vehicles has also increased due to the fact that we are forced to go the long way round to get to the required destination - all accumulating to even more emissions being emitted! Bravo Sadiq & team. (How can this be reducing pollution?!) - Pedestrians as they walk along these main routes to get to stations, schools, shops are inhaling far more fumes than before, you can really notice this. Even drivers inhale more fumes when we are stuck in stationary traffic. This is really aggravating and makes no sense! - Cycle Lanes: Should not be taking up an extra lane of the roads, large pavements could be divided into two for cyclists. - The introductions of 20MPH roads are also a big problem because emission fumes don’t disperse quickly and the air is getting even more polluted because of the need to drive in lower gears. (higher revs = more fumes) Sadiq’s statement: “It is to reduce toxic air pollution” is clearly not accurate, he has made matters far worse. It is obvious that his policies are just to clobber the motorist and to generate funds for TFL. The situation is getting extremely out of hand and something needs to be done to stop him from ruining our climate even more. He should resign and Londoners should vote for someone who will make London a greater and more desirable place to live in. There needs to be a more logical and strategic plan that is well thought out. Vinnie Lauda

No one really addresses the issue of how to deal with the massive influx of migrants. The Tory Chris Philip was clearly not very bright and out of his depth and Charles Moore was not sufficiently articulate to answer Victor Adebowale’s elegant but idealistic points. There is constant talk about the positive benefits of emigrants but few dare address the problems many have created too in terms of crime, the ever growing drug trade, the drain on national resources, and the fact they are adding to the collapse of our housing and educational systems. Most are young men coming here to get better lives, not families with children fleeing tyrannical regimes, and it’s about time we faced up to that fact and not simply attack the Tory government when Labour will be just as appalling when they try to deal with this complex issue. There needs to be cross party support to address this problem not oppositional politicians trying to score points. No wonder this country is in the mess it’s in, Scotland and Wales too, when we have far too many inadequate politicians and their half-baked policies.

The comparison with Australia is a bad one. The distance between Indonesia and Aus is 240 km, whereas the distance between England and France is around 30, making it a much easier crossing. Also, the amount of people coming to Aus on boats was minimal. The only similarity is that the Tories want to send the migrants to a country that is not safe or secure. The conditions on Nauru are not good, 7 suicides in 10 years, quite a few other deaths as well. A lot of detainees are kept there for years and in a lot of cases are not given info on how long they will be detained. Like Victor Adebowale said, it’s “cruel”. There are more humane ways to do this but these pricks in charge are only out for themselves and people are seen by them as just pound signs and pawns, used to stay in power.

That Chris Philip is not the brightest. The Labour MP only has a go at the Tories, also pathetic. The Leb Dem was spot on about the social services system. That old chap is a toff. And awful. This is the expert analysis from a South African. We're all in the same boat - is there anyone worth voting for this year? I wish we could vote for Victor Adebowale to rule the world.

I have something called End Stage Avascular Osteonecropathy. I was told this about 3 years ago ( after being in increasing agony for the past 7 years ) by a Radiologist. " End Stage ? What`s all that about ?" I asked ? I had nothing to fear, and he relieved me of any of it by explaining that my pelvis ( and in particular the articulations between my pelvis and femurs were dead, essentially as a lack of blood supply, and that the stage of the disease was about the worst he`d ever seen. But he also said that it wasn`t going to lay me to rest on my way home..... lol. It will only make me wish it had. Everyone else that have seen the pictures ( x-rays ) of my pelvis want to know how I stand, never mind walk, never mind work 55 hours a week, still : I tell them, I have no option but to. 60 years old, paid tax all my life and scored zero points in a PIP assessment which I only agreed to take part in on the grounds that I was advised to. My Surgeon tells me that I am in need of extensive rehabilitation, whilst someone else with a degree in Happy Days tells me I need f`all. That`s fine by me. I can`t wait to get back to work - it shall release me from boredom. Is a Peer in the House of Lords able to stand for 4 minutes and therefore able to work ? Then let him / her ! Stay well folks - and chin up !! Don`t let the b`stards get you down.

Rishi and the tories have luckily, by using this ploy, missed the views of the electorate in this situation. The U.K is massively against this cunning plan along with their Small Boats strategy. The best analogy I can make is as on Blackadder, General Melchitt and Captain Darling sitting in a chateau 50 miles away from the front believing the Tommies and Baldrick can’t wait to go over the top to be gunned down in their thousands. This shows how much empathy Rishi and his tories have and how little they are in touch with the people of our country, that is none.

I had a Brain haemorrhage 6 years ago leaving me with a hemiplagic left arm and left leg dependant . on a wheelchair , a chronic veinous insufficiency in both legs and feet, Irritable Bowel syndrome, bouts of constipation followers by Diarrhoea. Curing the first few days after I had gained consciousness, when I realised my left arm was disabled and had no sensation and I couldn't get out of bed due to a disabled left leg with no sensation . I told the visiting hospital physician that I had become an invalid. The winked at me and said , "just fill in the sick notes" . I wonder what THIS Prime Minister would say if he ever had the courage to meet me or someone like me?
