0:40 Question 1 - How do you grow, or increase in the fear of God, and decrease in the fear of man? 6:59 Question 2 - We read in the Psalms David's plea to God asking Him to deal with his enemies. Why doesn't the church pray like that today? 11:21 Question 3 - Is there a way when we can be considered not sinless, but rather, more righteous, the way Job was considered righteous. What does that journey look like, what does it take to be blameless, the way Job was blameless? 13:06 Question 4 - Must a person forsake his sins in order to come to Christ? 15:40 Question 5 - Is the Doctrine of Election a primary doctrine? 20:45 Question 6 - How would you counsel someone who struggles with unbelief? 38:26 Question 7 - When Moses spoke to the Lord face to face, as a friend speaks to each other (Exodus 33:11), was that really the fullness of God's person, or merely a representation of Him? 40:24 Question 8 - The future of Reformed Theology in America, what do you think it looks like, especially in light of increasing Secularism, in mainstream churches, and what the church is facing in the coming years?

@@jameswilliams1636 Brother James, please note its not Steven Lawson writing that post. This person is a scammer I guess and is trying to tarnish all the good preacher teachers of the LIVING WORD. This same person writes similar posts as Paul Washer, Voddie Baucham and many others. Just thought to make it known to you as such misleading posts can make us doubt True followers of Christ. Have a blessed day!

I'm pretty sure Lawson, Nichols, and Parsons' answers to the question at 15:39 opened my mom's eyes to the truth of the doctrine of election

I am currently experiencing this fear and doubt of myself, in light of RZ. I am faithful today, I run to Christ from moment to moment daily. But what will happen in 20 years? would I ever fall away?? May God preserve me! May Christ sustain me! May the Holy Spirit keep me!

Trust God, not yourself - I think that is the key. He promises to persevere you if you trust in HIS strength in lieu of your own strength. We would all fall away if left to our own devices. Put another way, we must recognize that sanctification is monergistic.

@@uncasunga1800 start be looking for a specifically confessional church. PCA and OPC are two examples. If you are Baptist, you should find a reformed Baptist church that follows the LBC of 1689.

I haven't heard much about RZ but I need to know if this is gossip, someone who started a rumet . Whatever was said about him after he died. Why not while he was still alive. It was after he died and unable to defend himself.

To fear God makes one want to do what is right even if the world thinks something else is right/the truth. To fear God is to take the temporal punishment in this fallen world of lies and suffer the consequences, without letting go of the Truth which is what God sees. We will be rewarded in the end. It is only eternity that counts!
@uncasunga18003 жыл бұрын
To fear God you have to find out He himself is the only lawgiver and therefore the only ENFORCER of the law. He has no problem wiping us out. He does not want to, In fact He died to set us free, but he knows what He made us for and we are totally broken depraved and ready for enslavement from birth. ONLY YHVH God is able to doom man for breaking his law and refusing to repent. He who fears god has no need to fear nayone or anything else. He is to be feared, for he poured out His unimaginable wrath on Jesus Christ. ALL of His wrath will be satisfied for we are not forgiven because god is just a nice guy. He is HOLY and will never be any less, and to remain Holy He judges any and all sin with no respect of persons.

Growing up in Jamaica, I attended the Anglican Church, where a Psalm was sung every Sunday as part of the worship service.. As a child and teenager I was familiar with the book of psalms. We also said the psalms in public schools. When I came to the U S A. all that ended. In the episcopal you will hear the Psalm read but not sung. Other churches, no psalms.

That was frustrating. Burk says he worries about people who don't doubt because he's afraid they've never been convicted and the very next guy said if you've been saved the holy spirit will allay any doubts. Contradiction. How? Which one is correct? Should I never doubt like he says? I will never be saved if I have to wait until I never have moments of doubt.

19:40 Burk Parsons: “A lot depends after what someone does after having studied the doctrine of election. And what they do with it, and what they make of it...If they study it in depth...and reject it...they’ll either wind up with a very shallow theology...if indeed they’re saved at all”. That is a very scary, and a very haughty statement to make. So all (most?) the professors and graduates from, say Dallas, are potentially unbelievers? All the untold multitudes throughout history that have struggles with and rejected election are shallow or unbelievers? I grant that election is a major doctrine, but it is by no means an essential doctrine, and I personally know many whose prayers and counsel I cherish, who do not accept election. These kinds of attitudes are what drive so many away from reformed teaching. It is not even the teaching itself, but sometimes the attitude of the speaker.

If my experience counts for anything, I don't think the panel understood the question: "How do you counsel someone who struggles with unbelief". Personally, when everything has fallen, and you struggle just to get off the floor because you know when you stand, someone will knock you down again. You don't know how to feed your kid much less yourself...and you reach up to Christ, but you know that Christ never promised anyone He would make it all go away. Romans 8:28 tells us: "All things work for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose..." It does not guarantee that will happen here on earth...it may not happen until the afterlife. Think of the parable of the rich young man. Remember Matthew 16:24 and 1 John 2:15. I believe that the more salient question is regarding faith when you feel alone, are walking through the Via Dolorosa and you know the only way to please God is to have faith, but you are so tired and beaten you can't find the strength because you know it isn't going to get better any time soon...

With all due respect sir/ madam, you don’t know the full extent of these ministries, of what they do or don’t do? To seek to preach sound doctrine and good theology isn’t a bad thing, and really lacking in the church right now. What good is it to bring the unconverted into churches where a false gospel is being proclaimed? To be a 1000 miles wide and 1 inch deep doesn’t do us any good either.
@theocratickingdom303 жыл бұрын
@hdhdksdhd. You need to read more of your Bible. The overwhelming majority of the New Testament is equipping the saints in the knowledge of God. Through that, comes good works. Paul’s epistles are a perfect example. The theology first. Then, the application.
@marcusburnett72253 жыл бұрын
The best way to support the poor, downtrodden, and unconverted is to hand them the Gospel. It is the Power of the Gospel that transforms mankind! A new way of thinking brings about a new way of living: Not focusing on what you don’t have, but focusing on what you do have! And if you have Christ, you have everything you need!
