Wish we would have included this in the video, but we wanted to say that our position on being pro-life also extends to the lives of people on death row. To immigrants lives. To the lives of women that face sexual assault and rape. We are pro-life across the board. Not just regarding the lives of babies in the womb.

Most pro-life people would be fine with making an exception for rape though, so you’d still be allowed to abort
@danaschreiner33342 жыл бұрын
@mechadoggy thats why it's gets confusing, though, bc that is pro choice. It's still allowing a person to choose for themselves. If you're willing to make any type of exception, then you're allowing a person to choose for themselves and not the government. It is confusing because some people could be pro life from a personal or moral perspective but pro choice from a legal one. Allowing women to choose for themselves what is an appropriate reason to abort is paramount to their health and sense of self.

@@danaschreiner3334 It’s not black and white like that. There’s a whole spectrum of political positions that are in between the extremes of “abortion should be available (and provided for) at every stage of pregnancy no matter what, no exceptions” vs. “abortion should not be allowed no matter what, no exceptions”. Usually, those people just get called women-hating misogynistic fascist Nazis on Twitter.

There’s so many other more practical options. As long as you have goals, realistic expectations & are willing to do the work. Also, your passion doesn’t necessarily have to be your career.. like your job can just be the thing you get paid for & you find a way to take joy in it but your passion can be totally separate. Just let people make their own decisions. You can be pro life for yourself, not a problem. But why should YOU decide what OTHER people can and can’t do with their lives. That’s the only thing I can’t understand as to what gives you the right to dictate other people’s lives.
@Becca-jt5ec3 жыл бұрын
@@gus4198 I agree. I say, if you don’t want an abortion and you believe it’s wrong, it is well within your rights to refuse it and I completely respect the sanctity that you place on that life. BUT when those beliefs start to infringe on my rights to reproductive healthcare, that’s when I have a huge problem with it. PLUS a lot of people are pro choice but call themselves pro life because it sounds more moral. Abby and Matt don’t sound like these kinds of people, just to clarify. But there are tons of them out there that are like “I’m pro life unless there was rape or invest involved” well guess what, you’re pro choice. Or “I’m pro life but if the mother or baby may die, then abortion is ok” well guess what, you’re pro choice. These pro life and pro choice buzz words are really just designed to imply morality vs. lack of morality. It should be called pro choice and anti choice

No offense, but if you’re pro choice, you open abortion as an option, therefore making you pro abortion even when circumstantial. Unless your life is being legitimately threatened (such as an ectopic pregnancy), to kill an unborn child (which until the 1960s was considered a living being from the moment of fertilization) should be ostracized. Of course, this sentiment won’t matter if it turns out that those children born are not valued by their parents to the extent that they consider abortion as a viable option simply for convenience. I’ve seen the trauma on video by toddlers who had no stable home and were transferred to foster care too often. And there needs to be better care for the women forced into that position. No wonder this issue is so nuanced.

I just wanted to highlight that many babies that are not wanted are not the healthy ones but just the kids with problems/disabilities (and that for many people that's the argument for abortion because prenatal medicine improved so much during past few years/decades) people may not decide to have a kid who you have to put tons of money for therapy and milion of hours of work, for which not many people are prepared and able unfortunately 😔

LOVE your stance on abortion! While I am personally pro-choice, I completely respect your stance and the fact that you guys want to be part of the solution. You don’t hear it often, and it’s such a unique and beautiful thing ❤️

Love that y’all have a passion for adoption! One of my younger sisters is adopted and she has been a blessing to the rest of my family. Also loved hearing that y’all are pro-life! God is using you two for great things❤️

I totally agree with what they said about the Midwest. People here are usually very friendly, love small talk, and love just hanging out. I think Midwesterners get the reputation of being these old, grumpy, and unaccepting people, but that’s really not the case.

Matt and Abby you guys are cute and sweet in your low 20s. Your viewership could decline as you begin to look older and your attitudes are potentially impacted by your life experiences. This is why people say you need college or any backup plan because what you have now will almost certainly not last your whole lives.

Whether or not you need to go to college depends on what you are passionate about and want to do with your life. I dropped out of college, joined the Navy, had some medical issues that led to my separation after I was discharged, and went to trade school for my CDL. A 4 week school that can either be paid by a company if you commit to them or like 5 to 6k. Nowhere near as much debt as a 4 year degree, and you can make high 5 figure salary or even 6 figures. You can more than support a family with 4 weeks of education or less. Everyone has their own path to success. YASS Moissanite! I did that for my fianceé too.

I truly appreciate both pro life and pro choice. My sisters and I were victims of physical abuse and just recently my little sister to sexual abuse. It’s amazing that there are some people out there helping and supporting! Love you guys and keep being amazing!❤️

I'm personally pro-choice but I really appreciate your comment on wanting to be a part of the solution. Being vaccinated, supporting immigrants and people of color, LGBTQ+ people, etc. is so important and your compassion makes you ACTUALLY pro-life, not just anti-choice. Despite our different opinions on the subject your overall outlook on life maintains my respect for you.

I cannot believe how many people are pro life. I really love you guys and agree we don't all have to have the same views but everybody should have a choice, sadly I wish more people saw why this was humane
@mary-brentbrown6736 Жыл бұрын
I agree. Abby and Matt generally seem like such empathetic people, and I wish that their empathy extended to allowing everyone to have a choice. They, who are in a loving relationship, of course view children as a blessing, but not everyone is fortunate enough to have a pregnancy in their context
@im.brooklynn Жыл бұрын
Wait could one of y’all explain, how they aren’t giving everyone a choice??? How is that possible they can’t make you not have a choice.
@mary-brentbrown6736 Жыл бұрын
@@im.brooklynnmany people who have the same opinion Matt and Abby have intentionally vote in a way to prevent everyone else from having a choice and advocate for limitations on this choice

Politics is everywhere, im a poli sci major tho so thats why i believe that frame. I think a politics you could and have focused on-is showing more about ur volunteer work or the places you have donated too. I really admire your guys' hearts. Politics has gotten branded as a bad thing (blue vs. red), but really its how society functions, written and unwritten social norms, and honestly we need more compassion in it. So without even using the word "politics" you guys have been using your platform to show "hey we are donating all the money we get from our merch to x, y, and z." so whatever you want to share ever might be political to some and not to others. But you are helping individuals and society-so thank you!

I took my husband off of life support 4 weeks ago today. While it's never a subject you want to talk about, I'm so glad throughout our 23 years of marriage that we had vibrating that prepared me for this time in my life. Now, I don't think that you can ever fully prepare for an experience like this, specially with our 6 kids involved. I'd never wish this on anyone. I've never felt my soul ache like this! Even with losing my parents just 7 months apart, I couldn't have been fully prepared.
