At age 65 I would so have done this when I was 16!!! I had way too much hair just like you and saving hurt, got 2 ingrown hair infections, waxing caused the same problem and creams just broke the hair off so I still felt it within 12 hours. You did it right Abby!!! And you now have your entire life to not have to worry about it anymore!

Hormonal changes (such as pregnancy) can make it grow back in an instant is what the lady at my appointment said. She asked me how old I was so she knew how balanced my hormones were... as for young people oftentimes it is less effective

Thank you for acknowledging darker skin tones OMG. I was listening and was in awe and admiration as many who I listen to are Caucasian and so I smiled when you acknowledged and brought up that issue. I really want to have it done but am scared for scarring. I'm happy you got it done.

Try sugar waxing instead. You don’t have to fully grow out hair. Numbing cream WORKS. And after a while, the hairs grow so thin

Darker skin tones are possible with a YAG laser. It may require more treatments due to the melanin in the skin. (I worked at a laser hair removal clinic and started as a patient on the apogee laser that works with fair skin tones.) The most import thing to remember is no sun exposure 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after a treatment. You have to understand that the laser basically works like high intensity UV, so sun on top of that will cause burns as well as make a treatment less effective (before). Any health conditions with a sensitivity to sun are a red flag as well.

We all have pubic hair and if I was at the beach and at some point I noticed a bit of hair around a ladies bikini I wouldn’t even raise an eyebrow because I expect it to be there. Now obviously if it’s all over her leg, I can understand that would be embarrassing an not expected. Go ahead and tell me I’m an idiot, I’ve heard it before!

I am SO HERE for laser hair removal! I started going to a professional for hair below my belly button, but it was $70 a session and they were wanting me in for a minimum of 7 sessions. I went to 3 sessions and it was working so well I started considering bikini area but they quoted my $112 per session. That's when I turned to Amazon for an at-home lasering device. I ended up buying the Braun IPL Hair Removal for Women Silk Expert Pro 5 for $329 and it is one of the BEST investments I have made! The at-home device is not as powerful as a professional laser, but if you have the dedication to keep treating the area you will SAVE MONEY. The Braun IPL Pro says to treat the area weekly for 12 weeks and then once every month or as-needed after that. I did my legs and my bikini area and although there is still some hair there after maybe 14 treatments, I am SO THRILLED with the results. The hair is not as dark and thick so it is easier to shave. Like Abby said, the hair follicles disappear so my "strawberry legs" aren't as bad and I am more confident about my bikini area now! YES it hurts but the more you laser your hair, the less hair there is to "kill" so the pain gets less and less with each session! For my goals, the pain is worth the outcome!

I am using the same device and i wanted to ask you if the hair will ever grow back if i dont use it for a couple of months, i know that it is IPL and it doesnt work like laser, i have been using it for a year and my facial hairs are gone but i realised that i still have to use it and it made me think that i will have to use it forever

@@michaeljforever1954 I noticed that with my legs especially that I still get hair it just comes back as thinner and lighter. I more or less just use it every month or two for maintenance. The bikini area is being more stubborn. It has helped but definitely I would think would need maintenance forever. That being said, I stopped the weekly treatments so if I went back to weekly treatments it's possible it could help knock them out better. I'm still super happy with the results!

Hi I have a question , I recently bought an IPL laser as well to treat it but I'm unsure if should only use after I shave ,or I can zap it 2-3 times before it starts growing back. Hope u can reply me thanks ! :)

@@vip_blink8115 It's most effective if you use it right after you shave. The laser is attracted to pigmentation and when you shave then the laser can go down to the hair root versus just burning the hair outside the skin if you don't shave.

Y’all, I didn’t even use numbing cream and I’ve had Brazilian, legs, and underarms done and it’s not THAT bad. My clinician said it was comparable to getting a tattoo, and like Abby said, it’s super quick (especially if you’re not getting as much as I did). If body hair is something that really bothers you and you can save up or afford it, I 100% recommend laser. It’s so worth it, and the few minutes of pain is nothing

When I was young, I was so shy about my body I had no girlfriends I could talk and I didn't feel comfortable with my mother. I refused to wear bikinis. There were no cell phones, no incredible menstrual underwear. Truly, womankind is no longer having to suffer from the issues that plagued me and made me burn with embarrassment as those fears that I thought mafmde me abnormal WERE natural. I'm so glad there now information can be had to all the young girls suffering from fears and silence. I love what a girl can do for herself these days to be comfortable and confident. I got my whole body lasered and as a darker/ tanner person. Yes you can still have it done. However you need more sessions since the “power” of the laser has to be less without damaging your skin. I think I had around 12 total? And it’s gone :)

I've been doing laser for a year now and yeah I've been doing it down there and to be honest it hurts but it doesn't hurt more than the Brazilian wax. And trust me it's worth it, it doesn't come out for at least 2 months(also depends on the person). I used to shave before so when I started doing laser for the first time it hurt but only the first few times after that I didn't feel that much pain. I'm not gonna say it doesn't hurt anymore but trust me it's totally worth it. If you're still not sure about it you should probably go ask them yourselves or search it up so you can be more comfortable that way. The results never seemed to disappoint me and still doesn't so I hope y'all consider it too and if you don't it's totally fine!

I am a laser tech. Great video. Topical numbing cream doesn’t go deep enough so, it’s really a waste. I use a laser that it take maybe 3 minutes to laser a Brazilian. It’s the most comfortable laser out there. LHR is not permanent removal but it is permanent reduction. Only electrolysis is permanent removal. I laser both men and women and I do my best to keep my client safe & comfortable.

This is so amazing and something I've actually never thought of nor considered, because I'm so use to shaving and I've actually been shaving down there for so long, that when I shave, it always turns out (soft as a baby's bottom), with no bumps, no itchiness, etc. but shaving does get tiring after having to do it for so long, so this is a very awesome thought!! I'm actually considering it!! After I watched this video, I literally told my husband that I would really like for this to happen, and he was totally okay with it, but he's usually okay with anything that makes me happy or would make me even happier, so he's very supportive, so this may be a win win situation for me, as well! I think it’d be really helpful for younger girls that are seeing this to know and understand also that hair is supposed to be on our vaginas. It’s there to protect from infections & act as a barrier. It’s a personal choice to remove it, which is totally fine, but in some cases can lead to chronic yeast & bacterial infections for others. There’s no way to know how your body will react in the long term, so make sure you have fully talked this out with your gynecologist beforehand.

I have had laser hair removal on my whole body-full legs, underarms, bikini and arms. It is literally THE BEST! I was a good candidate though, very dark hair and very pale skin. I was not blessed with any numbing cream though! The pain on the bikini area was truly brutal (I had to psych myself up to get through it). For the other body parts, it was a breeze, even though the area near the ankles is quite sensitive and tender. I am lucky enough to live in NYC and the price is quite reasonable now here (due to demand). Believe it or not, when considering the environmental benefits of laser vs razors, or especially waxing (which creates a mountain of fabric strips that are just discarded), I would love to see a government program to provide it for the masses.

i’ve been shaving since i was 14. i’m almost 43. wouldn’t go back to having a single hair down there again. so much cleaner and nicer-looking, though upkeep is a pita. trust me, guys prefer less. maybe a landing strip or something

Sugar scrubs help by removing dead skin and prepping the area before a shave. Also, investing in a skin calming spray for right out of the shower works nicely! Also, make sure your underwear isn't rubbing on your shaved skin throughout the day. I either try to wear soft, seamless underwear the day or two after or I adjust the sides of the underwear so they dont touch the shaved area.

I've been getting it done for the last 6 years, at first I did just my legs then moved onto other areas. The appointments were 6 weeks apart then moved to 8 then 10 ect. I didn't have to use numbing cream or anything like that, as the hair gets thinner it stops hurting as much. Now I go once every 2 years or so for touch ups and I also have my own at home laser but it needs to be done 2-3 times per week on the same area to get the same outcome as one professional session. But it save's me $100 or more (depending on what area I'm getting done). Also winter is the best time to get it done (in my opinion).

As a side note, you can also get a home laser machine for a few hundred dollars. I got a Phillips laser unit for about $350. It works just as well but may take longer. I have been hair free for several years and am very happy with it.

I am currently in the process of doing laser hair removal on my face. ive done 5 sessions and ive seen a huge difference. I wouldn't say it hurts, the place I go to has cool air blowing at the same time as the laser so you dont really feel it other than along the hairline it just feels like a small rubber band snap and then it goes away! its so worth it.
