One of the few times you get to see Fallon being genuine and not corny. He's just happy for his friend, and now he can say "Oscar winning director" and point over at him, any time he wants. That's great.

And the fact that many people have been talking about Will Smith's slap, i don't think Fallon needs to repeat it again and again. there's really nothing new he could say as the slap only happened for like 3 minutes, sure it's fun to discuss but it gets overused and boring. I feel bad for Questlove and the other winners (except Will Smith) that their moment gets overshadowed

The one thing that grabbed my attention from the moments after Chris Rock announced the winner for the documentary, was what Quest Love did or did not do. This turned my stomach even further. Prior to seeing this video, all I heard was that people felt sorry for Quest Love and how his moment was stolen. Fair. However, after I saw the full video, it changed my mind. As Quest walked near the stage, he and Will do that hand-hug thing men do. All smiles. Then Quest goes up on stage and takes the statue from Chris Rock as one does from a trophy girl, no eye contact, no hand on shoulder, no whisper in ear "you alright?", no fist bump, no smile, no nothing. I played it over and over again to imprint in my mind Chris' expression in these moments. After Quest's speech, they all walk off, Chris tries to engage Quest with words, while Quest keeps a distance from him. Chris' expression says it all. How he must have felt. I watched this as a mother might her son. It broke me to think how traumatizing the whole assault was to Chris and then have to go through the reception or lack of reaction. How humiliated he must have felt, How alone he must have felt. And so, you can understand when supposedly Chris didn't want to press charges in that moment. No one seemed to be on his side. He just wanted to leave. It's like someone raping you in front of a crowd and no one helps. Everyone high fives the rapist after the fact and then they all act like nothing happened. When the police finally come and ask you what happened? You say, "nothing" that you just want to go home. That producer cared only about keeping his show going. Quest only thought about his moment. Quest and Jimmy Fallon made no mention about the incident on Fallon's show. A crime was committed in front of all of them, and all they thought about was themselves and their moment. Find and watch that clip. It'll make you feel sick. Did you know that earlier in the show, one of the female hosts made a joke about that ridiculous couple and their "open marriage" fiasco, the kid she slept with? No one got assaulted then.

So awesome & I love how Jimmy wrapped it up before he got emotional again 😁 - I remember seeing The Roots here in Atlanta back in 2001 or 2002; I was sooo excited about having tickets. Huge fan of both of these men and it's awesome that they vibe off of each other so well. Continued success to both of them... & Congrats to Questlove!

Great interview, Quest deserved it and I was so happy for him. I know that the atmosphere was probably still weird, but I loved that he just celebrated the moment with his Mom.

That as such a great film on a very important subject that I’m so glad finally got covered. It both filled me with joy at the crowds and the families snd the amazing music. Then sobering when put in the context of the era that was still not embracing equality but still bucking it. I would have never been caught dead at something like Woodstock but I would have totally been at that Harlem music festival with my mom snd be the only white girls, me only 5 yrs old but singing along with all the songs cuz that was the music I listened to. Still do. So many giants of music of that time snd still to this day. So glad it finally got a big light shine in it.

I'm just glad that this show has a new Oscar winner on the band, it will distract Jimmy from breaking down about the biggest drama that happened last night 😂😂😂

Second consecutive year a late show bandleader wins an Oscar. Last year it was Jon Batiste from CBS Late Show. Kimmel's bandleader gotta step up his game.

So much congrats to Questlove!! I felt so bad for him that he had to go on stage right after the drama, but it was a heartfelt speech and the film is like, no. 2 highest rated for 2021 on Metacritic (96/100), so that is even more proof of merit of that Oscar.
