The Lightsaber combat is so smart in the way it not only looks good, but also reallt tells you a lot about the characters. Like you can really tell that Jecki is Sol’s padawan from how aggressive her moves are along with their tendency to incorporate martial arts. Even Yord’s stubborn by-the-book nature comes off in the way his style seems to be to block and stand incredibly firm, but this hardheadedness proves to be a detriment as he is unable to adequately respond to an enemy who doesn’t have a problem playing outside of the rules. Absolutely loved this episode!

Cortosis armor. Cortosis overloads the lightsaber causing it to shut down temporeraly. It is also quite brittle so that would explain why the helmet broke.

It's not Beskar, it's a Cortosis weave, a rare substance even more valuable than Mandalorian Iron. Cortosis short circuits (temporarily) lightsabers, although I don't think it protects against lasers/stun guns and it certainly does NOT protect against the Force. But this isn't Canon Star Wars, it's Disney Star Wars and they keep changing how everything works. And people's birth dates, in Canon Ki Adi Mundi hasn't even been born yet.

It does work on blasters and such. But right, Disney explicitly said Legends isn't canon, all of it, yet they keep taking things from it; here, they just expect everyone to know about cortosis from the books or video games, couldn't be bothered to throw in a few lines of dialogue to explain the stuff (and it didn't need to be here either, so it was pointlessly confusing).

Well, so far, Sol is the only one that it's implied knows who he is from some past event. And even that seems hazy. I'm guessing he was there at the witch's coven, somehow, so he would have been pretty young and it sort of makes sense that Sol didn't immediately realize this was him when he was some bumbling crook. Good thing they didn't try to arrest him like Yord suggested, or attempt to use the Force to read his mind though, or else this plot wouldn't have happened like it did. Sure is lucky the characters acted kinda dumb.

​@anton.chigrinetc.96 The Revenge of the Sith novel actually makes it pretty clear that purely in lightsaber combat Obi-wan was essentially the best form III lightsaber duelist ever, but form II (which Dooku used) is like rock to scissors for form III. It also makes it pretty clear that even though Dooku had planned to lose, he really was overpowered and beaten by Anakin for real. He literally just couldn't keep up anymore. Anakin and Obi-wan are two of the greatest lightsaber duelists ever. Obi-wan's weakness was in force power, and Anakin's was in control. The sith here would get bodied by Obi-wan or Anakin in a lightsaber duel for sure. Especially Anakin. Dooku could as well. Dooku was essentially unbeatable to all but the absolute most powerful jedi like Yoda, Windu, or Anakin.

Obi Wan only lost those duels in the Clone Wars because he was either caught off guard, or conflicted and angry because the person who killed his master who he thought was dead was still alive, Satine literally just died in front of him and he had no will to fight, and Maul and Savage double teamed him. Which if you remember Obi Wan fought the both of them off pretty decently. And Dooku is the reason why he lost. He purposefully taunted Anakin to make him tap into the Darkside. Only to find out that a Darkside empowered Anakin was too powerful for him. Anakin at that point was the 3rd or 2nd best duelist in the Clone Wars depending on where you would place Windu without getting empowered by Vaapad. And choreography errors is no way to judge a character's strengths. Because you could say the same for Attack of the Clones Anakin literally standing still for like 3 seconds to let Dooku cut off his arm.

Be fair, that seems to be the case in the show and, the galaxy is vast. it makes more sense for there to be more disaprate sects and or hidden groups of force users, isolated. But it doesn't stop the REST of the episode being shit, even if the action scenes were decent. it makse me hate the show more. The idea of dealing with someone who is a force users but not trained by jedi nor sith is a really cool idea in general but its never utilized. Honestly i imagine that the post empire galaxy would be like that, fulla disparate force user factions sprining up with the empire gone and the jedi gone as well, peeps figuring out their own methods.
