Omg, this was amazing!! I’m used to just hearing about the interview but to actually go through the interview with you especially a zoom one, this was very helpful! Your first interview seemed more comfortable vs the second one. My first one was very short and quick, too. But my second one was more of a conversation. Anyway, thank you so much for this video!

The second interviewers were super negative...every question they asked had negative connotations and yuck!!! I was appalled that the very first question they asked was about a problem student and even more shocked that each Q to follow was just as negative😳. Not a school I’d be interested in working for. What a bunch of pessimistic duds! Lol

Dude!! I wish this video existed in April. You're so brave for sharing this and you did great! My zoom interview was a complete failure - blanked out, had an inner panic attack, and failed to get myself back to 100% for the rest of the entire interview. I had 6 people on mine. Didn't get the job as expected. You can find question and answer videos on youtube all day long but this kind of first hand experience that shows how it really is to be on these interviews is what we need!! Stressful, y'all.

Hi, your presentation was awesome . I will doing the same in couple of days. Can you share how you prepare and presented you demo class? I don't know exactly how do it by Zoom exactly if we can use Power Point or just stand in front the camera and perform the class.

Egaine Cruz Gonzalez so I used Google slides to create my lesson. I had a couple practice runs on zoom before my interview to make sure I knew how to take over the session. You'll basically share your screen with the rest of the group through zoom. I asked the panel grab a writing utensil and paper before the lesson started. For my actual lesson I reviewed the information they should already know, then I taught them new information and reinforced it a couple times before they I explain their assignment. I used the frayer model for the independent work. On the slide, I used animations to make the answers slide into their place after the students answered correctly. I hope this helps! 😊

I used PowerPoint for my lesson plan and just shared my sceeen. I can share my written plan with you, but I am terrible at lesson planning 🥴 so you'll have to make adjustments as needed. Hey! Google common interview questions for teachers and try to answer them with someone you trust. I rehearsed for 2 days with a friend and I think it really helped. Have scenarios in your mind about your best/worst lesson, how you communicate with parents, technology use, education philosophy, and your strengths/weaknesses. You won't know everything, but still portray that you are competent and cabale of fixing your own problems. Above all, BE CONFIDENT! Good luck on your interview! 😊💜

I had my first zoom interview yesterday and I think I did terrible! :( I always do terrible during interviews, I get very nervous I can't even speak:( I have a second interview in two days also by zoom, and I have to plan a 10 min virtual dual language kinder lesson and I have no idea how to do it! Hi Blanca! Be encouraged girl! Virtual interviews are hard, but you have the added advantage of being at home. I got sooo nervous for my interviews and my teacher friend helped me rehearse common questions for the interview over Zoom. It really helped me and so did those sticky notes I had around my screen. For the virtual lesson, maybe try using a PowerPoint or Google sideshow so you don't have to hold objects up to the screen. Have a practice run of your lesson with someone on zoom so you can try taking over and accessing the lesson before your interview. I did this like 3 times with a friend. Also make sure that you know how you could modify your lesson for a student who is struggling and one who exceeds you're expectations (I didn't have this and the interviewer made a comment 🤦🏾‍♀️). Be mindful of your facial expressions - I struggle with this one because I do this 😬 alot 😂😂😂. Lastly, be confident even you don't feel like the interview is going well! Don't give up on yourself.
