What about your foot plate?? Did you put the zigzag foot plate in for the appliqué and then go back to your straight stitch foot plate for the regular sewing????

I didn't change the needle plate. I changed the presser foot - from a 20C to my 1/4" foot.

@@HayesSewingMachineCo From what I was told, material can get caught in the zigzag plate due to it being wide and I was told to use the straight stitch plate whenever sewing straight to prevent that. Not saying that your sewing would get stuck, but I’ve had it happen to me, this is why I ask. I just wondered which is correct information.
