Thank you "sew" much for this tutorial. In all my years of sewing I have never really been able to understand any methods or instructions as clearly as what you have explained. I am going to surprise my two kiddies with their beanbags tomorrow while they are at school, I shall be sewing away. Thank-you again.

I'm so GRATEFUL to find this! One of my sons is raising three daughters alone and they're soon going to be living with me. They have been through a lot and I decided to have a lot of soft textures around my place so they feel hugged and nurtured. I can now make each of them their own pillow-chair, which they'll LOVE!! Can you feel me hugging YOU for this idea and the clear directions??!!♡♡♡ Sue

You are such a great teacher, your explanation is easy to follow! Thank you for this great tutorial. I need to make my daughter a new bean bag chair, she used to have a store bought one that ripped apart. I saved all the Styrofoam beads and found this amazing tutorial. So grateful! Will get the fabric and start it right away. :)

Great tips! I remember when bean bag chairs were first introduced. I had a friend who wanted to make one. So her mother helped. The only problem was my friend( a teenager at the time) insisted it had to have REAL beans in it. It got so heavy no one could lift it! lol Thanks for the great videos!

This was such an easy instructional video to follow. The kids love the bean bag, and now mom and dad want one too. So going to make one a bit bigger.

Thank you for your lovely video.... I also believe that KZbin should remove the thumps down sign to stop people from demotivating other keen viewers... In simple if someone likes any video click like and no dislike will be seen. Great videos are posted for people to learn and enjoy and not to see or read unrealistic comments. I hope KZbin will consider this soon.

if we add say half a yard more to the 48 inches on the short side to make an adult sized pillow, will tnis mean the fabric to be cut will be 60 inches (which will make up the flatter part of the pillow) by 66 inches?. I'm not sure if this is what you meant. hope you can help. thanks.

thanks for the tutorial. can you specify the amount of fabric needed for an adult sized pillow please? also is the white pocket necessary? can we do without it for the cover and how will the steps change as a result?
@SewVeryEasy6 жыл бұрын
I have not figured out an adult size, just make it the size that you would like and you do not need the pocket:)

If you put some powder in the plastic bag,,, it cuts the static ,,, just pour in a little and shake it around while in it’s plastic bag . Then pour into pillow. If gets static , stop and pour in more powder.

If I’m making an adult sized bag with about 2 1/2 yards about how many bags of filler do you suggest?
@SewVeryEasy6 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry I do not know. I would start with one bag and see how much it fills and then go from there:)
@rachelkronberg23287 жыл бұрын
Also, I couldn't get 60 inch width. I'm not very knowledgeable but the fabric stated 45 inches. I got 2 yards but am not quite sure how to make this work for this tutorial, if it can. Will it be smaller and how do I know how much filler it will need? Any help is appreciated. TIA Laura
@SewVeryEasy7 жыл бұрын
yes you are right it will be smaller, as for the fill you can only get it a few different size bags. Start with a small bag and then if you need you can buy another small bag. I'm not sure how much you will need
@rachelkronberg23287 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Laura. So, the fabric cut is 45 inches x 72 inches. I thought I could use the 72 inches for the base and the 45 inches for the height. Is that a problem? I am not sure how the salvage edge comes into play here. The pattern is such that it can be used any which way. TIA!

If I wanted to use foam filler, do you know how much I would need?
@SewVeryEasy7 жыл бұрын
start with something like this www.fairfieldworld.com/store/category/poly-fil-premium-fiber-fill-5-pound-box/ I think you would need almost all of it. But than that will depend on how firm you stuff it.
@rachelkronberg23287 жыл бұрын
Thank you! That was the one I was looking into. :) I was hoping it might be enough. It's for my 33 lb daughter for a reading area. I don't need it, too firm. I'll cross my fingers a box will do. :D My other thought was polyproplyene beads but heard they might not be very comfortable.
@SuzanneWho2 жыл бұрын
@@SewVeryEasy I know this is an older post, but I think I would use shredded foam. There are companies out there selling this type of “bag” that are filled with shredded foam and charging BIG bucks for them. 🙂. Maybe there are other fillers to be used?

How did you gauge where to stop filling the liner?
@rachelkronberg23287 жыл бұрын
I figured it out, Laura - but now that I am done I am wondering how do you replenish the beads when they start to flatten out too much. Do you just cut out the double row of stitching to do that?
@SewVeryEasy7 жыл бұрын
You will just need to open one small area and add from there:)
