Saya sering buat kue ni Jauh sebelum nonton vidio ni. Untuk menghilangkan rasa amis krn telur, Saya tambahkan sedikit kapulaga. Kue menjadi harum. Di makan masih hangat

Measurements in vedio and in description is different. Shows 1 tbsp of corn flour in vedio and in the other as 4 tbsp? Which is correct?

I'm curious what makes this a chinese pancake when this is a very common recipe found in lot of places outside of Asia too
@ordinaryperson30537 ай бұрын
Shall it be called a pancake or crepe then
@touma-san917 ай бұрын
@@ordinaryperson3053 It should be because there is nothing Chinese about this.

Chinese Pancakes or "Jianbing originated in northern China, where wheat- and broomcorn-based flatbreads, pancakes and pies (collectively called bing) are common as staple foods. Its history can be traced back 2,000 years to Shandong province during the Three Kingdoms period (AD 220-280). According to legend, Chancellor Zhuge Liang encountered the problem of feeding his soldiers after they lost their woks. He ordered the cooks to mix water with wheat flour to make batter, then spread it on shields, or flat copper griddles over a flame.[6] The dish raised the soldiers’ morale and helped them win the battle. After that, jianbing was passed down through generations in Shandong province and gradually spread to different parts of China."

The same recipes can develop in different cultures by coincidence, and also regional dishes can be total misnomers. It's very unlikely that Yorkshire puddings originated and were only ever made in Yorkshire, for example. But that's what I grew up calling them. This person probably grew up calling them Chinese pancakes. It doesn't mean China has a monopoly on the recipe.

Video text shown 1 tbsp of cornflour but towards end recipes shown 4 tbsp of cornflour 🤔?
@EddSjo7 ай бұрын
It's cornstarch, not cornflour, and 1 is probably correct. That's what the recipe in de description says.
@cookingdiva2607 ай бұрын
@jaminenglh and @EddSjo, cornflour and cornstarch are the same ingredient, Cornflour(British) and Cornstarch (American). Please review both the video demonstration and recipe box again, both shows the correct amount of cornstarch as 1 Tbspn.

BUT WHY YOU CALL THEM CHINESE PANCAKES??? EVERY NATION IN WHOLE WORLD bake exactly these pancakes daily for centuries and even millenia! My both grandmothers, my mom and I personally bake them all my life right by this recipe, and I have never seen any chinese person in real life, nor their recipes ever, living in the northern Europa. What a shit - every single food to label as some specific "cuisine" 😂😳🤢
