A BIG mistake everyone makes with this recipe is not resting the batter for 15 minutes. You have to give the buttermilk time to work on the baking soda and create air bubbles. If you want the fluffiest pancakes, rest your batter for 15 minutes before cooking on the griddle. I use just a little more liquid so it is batter and not so thick. Thanks for enlightening the viewers with a great recipe.

I just made these and they turned out awesome. Being of Canadian heritage, usually the sweeter the better. I had maple syrup from Quebec, and some spicy sausage links. What a combination! Thanks Marie for the additional tips along with the wonderful recipe. I will add fresh blueberries next time to add a pinch of tarte. Fresh blueberries in upstate NY won't be ready for awhile. I can't wait that long. I'll just have to make these again and again.

Instant visual trick to make sure you use the powder instead of the soda and vis versa …. use a sharpie and put a “P” or “S” on the lid. 👍🏻😉

You don't need to have buttermilk, just add some lemon juice to some milk and it curdles within minutes that's buttermilk.

Can I ask If Im about to create 2kg worth of pancake mix with 6-8pcs of eggs, how many tbsp of vinegar should I add?
@marieskitchen Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching! I just added metric conversions to the recipe in the description box so you can just multiply those for as many batches as you want to make. Here are the conversions: METRIC 272 g flour 8 g baking powder 4 g baking soda 2 g salt 36 g sugar 100 g eggs 16 oz milk 30 g vinegar or lemon juice 4 g vanilla 42 g unsalted butter* *or use salted butter and omit salt Let me know if you need anything else! ❤️, Marie

Thumps up first time to cook perfect pancakes, thank you. I was just wondering, though, if I could store it the next day and how long can be stored. Thank you again.
@marieskitchen Жыл бұрын
Hi Luz! Thanks for watching and for your note 🥰 Are you wanting to store the batter or the cooked pancakes? The batter can be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days, but the pancakes will not be quite as fluffy as if made fresh. Hope that helps ❤️, Marie

I am now a subscriber Marie, thank you You teach in the way that I learn, visually and with meaningful and helpful experience advice along the way I love pancakes and have never had them come up right, but I think that not incorporating real buttermilk is what I have been missing all along as well as mixing for too long trying to get the lumps out I will be adding a touch of maple syrup to the wet ingredients and or maybe some clover honey to infuse this flavor within the pancake

Pancakes are near and dear to my heart. You touched on all the points I've known til now, but somehow I hadn't heard about acid for leavening. Thank you for that. I once took a job at a hostel in Australia, cooking pancakes for 200 people every morning. We would mix the batter the night before in a 5 gallon bucket with an industrial drill and cement mixer. One of the best jobs I've ever had. Everyone loves the pancake guy! 🤷 One of my favourite things about pancakes is how they travel. Good for days, and you can literally just throw em in your pocket if you need to. Pocket cakes for the win.
@marieskitchen Жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness pocket cakes. That made me laugh too! Reminds me of when my daughter was young, around 2 or 3, and would store chicken nuggets in this little purse she had. Here’s to more purse nuggets and pocket cakes 😂
