I've tried the FG, modified Albright and Alberto knots, old eyes and lack of feeling in my hands from neck and shoulder issues made all of those hard to tie out in the field. I added 2 more turns to this knot and so far so good. Way easier and quicker than anything else. Thanks Capt Caleb

I use the Alberto Knot when I have time to tie. This Triple Surgeon’s Knot is quick and dependable. Thanks for sharing this with the rest of the fishermen.

I watched this from one of your knot tying vids and I use this one 99% of the time… it’s been a easy good leader to line knot !!!💪👏
@johncortinas17343 жыл бұрын
Tried the FG for a while. If I didn’t get it just right the leader would actually break out of the knot after a day of fishing. I lost a few corkies and moved to the double uni if I’m dry and this knot if I’m in the water.

Love the short video tips!!!! What knot do you use to tie braid straight to top waters? Maybe a video on that knot? Happy to see you back put out videos!!!!
@Dave-zd5iq3 жыл бұрын
When wetting line I’ve found Copenhagen spit (original fine cut) is the best for getting those knots to seat, but when the trout bite is finicky I’ll switch to mint long cut. Adds a little attractant similar to procure. Levi Garrett best if your targeting big uglies. Might be a good video topic.

Appreciate it I’ve been looking for an easy line to leader knot. You probably get your line spooled at anglers anonymous but can you collaborate with them to show how to put backing in a reel with the line to line knot. Ty

Quick question. I found that when cinching down, sometimes the leader and or braid will start cinching down not in sinc with the other line. Does that matter as far as knot strength goes? Hope that makes sense. Thanks Capt!
@CaptCalebTV2 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t seem to, as long as they cinch clean by the time you get it all done. Being wet helps a lot.

With what line diameters are you using the surgeon’s knot? I run 3 turns for my standard 30lb braid to 20-30lb flouting/mono but have seen slipping on my smaller diameter spinning gear 10-15lb braid to 20-30lb mono/fluoro. I’ve gone up to 4-5 turns but it seems more difficult to get everything to lay out nicely.
@CaptCalebTV3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried it with 15. I run 30-50 on everything
@todddahl93612 жыл бұрын
I run 15# braid and have seen the same issue. I'll have to try more turns, the knot will slip with smaller braid.
