A Simple and Quick way to make a router table using just some scrap plywood and a Car Jack as the lift mechanism. You can use it in a moxon vise, screw it to your workbench or use a folding Workmate style stand. Remember to be safe and use a Safety switch like This from Amazon (affiliate link): amzn.to/2J9OGN0

Don't suppose you have the plans for this? :)
@Ollaris
@Ollaris 6 жыл бұрын
Honestly? No. The top is 60cm x 40cm, the fence is 10cm x 60cm and 6cm wide. The bottom part is just long enough to go on the braces. And the pieces glue the top are just bigger than the router base so that you can clamp on them. Feel free to make yours smaller or bigger.

I don't have a lot of spare room in my shop so I've been wracking my head/scouring the internet to come up with an idea for a quick and easy table. Tried a few other methods that didn't work out so well. Your idea, as others have said, is pure genius. Especially the clamping blocks underneath for the workbench!

Great video! I had an idea for the Workmate table for a DIY router table and searched. Here I am. There is nothing new under the sun! I plan to make mine from 1/2 inch (12 mm) plywood and with strips of nominal 2x2 (50mm x 50mm) reinforcement around the mounting point instead of hogging out a relief. It's what I have on hand. The car jack is a great idea.

Yet another use for a “workmate” type bench. Great thing here: you don’t really “use up” anything permanently except the wood itself and a few screws/nails- the router, the bench, and even the jack are easy to remove, with under one minutes effort. Great design.

This is the best I've seen so far... but I don't think one of these sorts of supporting tables is really sufficient: I think you need to clamp it to a sturdy, heavy workbench. There was a jump cut at one point (@3.53) and I was wondering whether that was because the table wobbled a bit. The forces unleashed by a router are immense. Great relief to see you using push sticks for everything.
