I have been quite busy over the last week with some new acquisitions. Krell, Krell, Krell....

I’ve had the same experience with Seton receivers. Passed up a couple only to never see another good example again

It is funny how often these things happen.

I wonder if these would power my headphones??😁

They may struggle a bit... 🙂

I don't suppose they come with wheels?
@stereoniche4 ай бұрын
Indeed! Maybe wheels on just one end and a detachable handle on the other to move around like a dolley. :-)

Those amps scream to have "Godzilla" by Blue Oyster Cult played through them. 😁

AGREE! They certainly fit the name! LOL

It's funny how things happen in spurts like that and then don't ever happen again.. I knew this one guy who was very conservative and mild mannered; he reminded you a lot of Bob Newhart. In his entire life he had never had one physical altercation with anyone; I don't think he ever even had sex. Then one day someone charged at him and really beat him up badly. He almost had to go to the hospital. Then on the following Tuesday, another guy jumped him and beat him even worse. Then on the following Monday, someone jumped out of the bushes at him and hit him the gut and then hit him in the face. One, two and three. Can you believe it! It turns out they were all relatives.......and they all thought that he was Bob Newhart. They didn't like the show or something I guess.

So it sounds like this fella was the #1 fan of the Newhart show..... ending.

I myself have always been a big fan of Bob Newhart. I used to look forward to Saturday night tv when the back to back lineup would be All In The Family, Mash, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show and The Carol Burnett Show. That lineup could really make you stay at home most Saturday nights, even as a teenager. Then after a half hour comedy break from The News; the real NEWS, it was Saturday Night Live.Back in those years SNL was hilarious. A few of the stores who carried audio equipment back then would advertise on tv during Saturday Night Live.I was enlisted by an audio store that advertised on radio to do a Fonzie from Happy Days impersonation, for a radio commercial touting JBL speakers. Guests on TV talk shows would actually mention audio equipment. Andy Kaufman once came on one and mentioned that he was a big fan of Technics equipment. Maybe the best episode featuring Bob Newhart was a 1963 Alfred Hitchcock hour episode called How To Get Rid Of Your Wife; streamable on the net. He played a very mild mannered character named Gerald. He tried to make himself suspicious to his awful aggressive wife. When she threw him out, he made sure to leave with his suitcase on Sunday morning, during the time where everyone was walking to church & could see him. He then framed his wife by secretly buying pet rats which he knew would give her an idea. He made friends with a stripper and in the end, was blackmailed by the lady that sold him the pet rats. A classic.

What? What's this? You're actually reviewing a piece of high end gear, rather than the usual mid-fi dreck that you drool over? Incredible. Or - maybe you can't tell, or hear, the difference, and it's just another item which, when you hook it up and turn it on - sound comes out! Your only criterion. Rock on.

This is the vintage audio channel where there is no uppity attitude. The snooty "high end" channel is somewhere else. :-)

Thelman that was rude. Too rude I think.

I can AGREE with that statement. These porcupines are probably my last venture with such beasts. My shin will certainly not argue.

Indeed! This beast sucks the power and outputs a lot of heat!

I recall seeing a pair of Beveridge speakers when my father and I were picking up his Snell Type A II speakers at the dealer, Natural Sound, in Framingham MA, back in 1983. I recall they were a massive speaker and was shocked to see any speaker to be of that proportion (not that the Snells were small themselves!). The Beveridge were in an exclusive demo room of only the best equipment the dealer had to offer and I only wish we'd had a chance to listen to that system. I recall the salesman had said to my father you'll either love them or hate them, hence I'm not sure which camp I would have fallen into, LOL. Incidentally, Natural Sound is still very much in business to this day and I'm happy they've endured over the years.

The Bevs are quite special. I've been trying to put together some interviews and material for a good review of them as there has not been one for them that I can find. The only video reference is really a non-reference for a model that was not using the actual Beveridge drivers. Unfortunately, in a weak moment, I sold the 1st pair I bought, only real seller's remorse I've ever had over the years.

Just like eBay listings, I'll see two or three identical items listed within a month of each other and then I'll never see them again.
@stereoniche5 ай бұрын
Indeed, just interesting how sometimes rare items appear out of no where, then off the radar again for who knows how long. Which means, strike when the iron is hot! :-)
