Quick Cod session | Low water on the Humber

Still on the Cod quest, and hitting it hard. This is the session 2 of 3 from the weekend. Although I've fished Paull before, I've never fished the beach before over low water, so a relatively new mark to me. It's one which I know produces good fish on its day, so now I need to figure out what that day looks like.

Lost my wife of 33 years 4 months ago. Been in a serious hole popping antidepressants for fun. Have a couple of mental health carers keeping in touch with me to help but tbh my 3 spaniels have kept me alive. Watching your videos has encouraged me to dig out my old fishing gear and sorting out for a trip somewhere (dog friendly) soonish. I am based SW Scotland but fished Paul on the Humber but out of the car park, not wading through that shite. Keep the videos coming!

Keep yourself busy and engaged by doing something. It helps tremendously. Sorry about your loss. Fishing has been very beneficial to me in terms of coping with mental health issues

Keep strong mate I lost my wife 3years ago we were together 22year I ended up loosing my home aswell hit rock bottom big time I also have massive mental health problems take each day as it comes and I promise you it will get easier take care mate 🙏

Ive just started watching this and enjoy it very much. It calms my mind in an otherwise chaotic life. I cant fish wish I could. My brother was a keen sea fisherman but sadly had a heart attack and passed away only 51. I miss him everyday. Seeing these guys reminds me times i spent with him, often not saying much. I think he must have had the weight of the world on him. Cheers guys. Keep fishing.

I agree Mark. So many studies have shown that our brains need some time to do 'Nothing', even though we are actually doing something. Wet Line is a great example, even net, trap or laid lines; all have 'the time' taken doing something in prep', that is deep in our historical behaviour and 'Genetic Memory'. The studies show stress reduction, greater immune respose and more regular sleep paterns. As for the laughter... I can go on with all the brain chemistry... but that would end up being a shaggy dog. I waded out up to me 🥜 not long before the end of the session and gave everything a quick scrub. At least 80% of it didn't come back with me in the van.

Good work keeping the flag flying for mens mental health,i reckon fishing is one of the best things you can do to switch off...i mean,that was a gash session you had there,but looked a right laugh,some of the best sessions i have had,have been the ones where little or nothing was caught,but the company was spot on.

Catching is a bonus in my eyes. The sights you get to see when sea fishing, being immersed in nature, switching off, and if you're that way inclined, fishing with good company. It's the best tonic for life's stresses.

It's supposed to fish well at low. But Paull is one of those marks, as popular as it is, its never been that good to me.

Nice spot to fish, give or take the mud, if you return, try fishing like uptiding, let a good few rips of line to tie the lead in, after casting uptide, don't try casting too far or you will never get it to hold.
