Nothing lasts forever (like the cold November rain), and MIG liners are no exception. Easy-peasy to lemon-squeezy.

Simple, straight to the point; not an hour of dumb commentary. These are the best videos.

Thanks for the set screw tip. I've been trying to get my liner out for 2 days now 😅

Year later you saved me on the job today at costumers house, that let me complete the job. Thank you! I didn't know about the set screw or how to take the liner out and wire was completely stuck in the liner. I didn't have a replacement liner but lucky enough I just needed cut like 2 inches off the end of the end of existing liner and it was running wire then it had in past few months.

For such a small welder (160A-200A), Can we replace the torch line from originally like 3m to 5-8m without an issue on motor feed power or poor arcing?

Good man! Don't need a lecture or a class on welding theory. Just the facts. Ps. I've got a 180i MP. But, it's not for sale. Word to the wise: newer 180's have an 8-pin connector, so plan on getting some two pin connectors to splice your trigger circut if you plan on using your older 100L stingers (or whips) with newer welder.

I have an SP-100 I got for free(liner required)… but I can’t justify the 180, 210 or the new gun it really needs.😬

The liner is usually about 25 bucks . USA weld had my whole gun 15 feet for 150 . IDK was a couple years ago an mine is a Hobart . Price may have gone stupid like everything now tho

Except it didn’t fix the feed issue. The new wire jams in the new liner like the old wire did in the old liner. Plus, the wire spool bird nests over and over. To be fair, jobs like this NEVER go as easy as the guys making the video show. I’ve used up 75% of my new roll of wire trying to get it to feed. Its easier to buy a whole new welder than spend hours dealing with wire that is ultra fragile, won’t feed, and unwinds from the roll the second you take your hand off it. Of course its freezing out here, it took a week for the nee liner to arrive, and now its a total shift show. I need a break. Wouldn’t it be great if things went as easy as the video? Lol, I know its me, it’s just such a pain when everything goes haywire.

Yeah, turns out the slightest pressure kinks the new liners. So when you buy a new liner, buy 3-4 of them, maybe you can get one in without kinking it. Also buy 3-4 spools of wire so eventually you might get one to feed. Do I sound like a complete idiot? Because I’m pretty sure I’m a complete idiot. Does anyone make a mig that’s not so extremely fragile?

The spool should have a bit of friction on it, so it doesn't unroll when the wire stops feeding. The rollers should be adjusted _just_enough_ that they will slip when meeting an obstruction instead of bird's nest inside the machine - it takes me a while of playing until I find that happy point of enough pressure that it feeds with enough slip when it sticks, but still feeds consistently. Rollers, too, can wear out and feed inconsistently. The liner should be coiled steel, and should be very hard to kink. I installed a teflon liner in another welder (to push aluminum), and THAT one sure liked to kink. Sometimes the tip seems just a fart too small for the wire (or it might be slightly damaged), and sometimes I run a size bigger tip than the wire size (like an .030 tip for .023 wire) - could just be cheap tips and cheap wire on my part. I hear you though - very annoying when it doesn't seem to work right from the get-go.
