Just drove the ‘ 21 Z4 m40i. It’s luxurious and smooth but sadly doesn’t feel like a real sports car. Close your eyes and it feels like a Honda Accord. Maybe that’s a good thing but I enjoy my Miata much more. The Porsche Boxster is way better a a sports car experience.

Great sound quality with the top down Matt! You must have a really great mic! Wind noise was basically non-existent

Having previously owned a 2011 CTS-V sedan (automatic), the V might be able to hang with the Z4 if the V driver can execute an absolutely perfect launch - which requires perfect conditions and tons of practice. The Z4's much more sophisticated electronics allow consistent, idiot proof launches. On the street, a Z4 will outrun a V from a stop 99 times out of 100. And it's much, much more fun to drive. It's an apples-to-oranges comparison, of course, but you brought it up.

IamPrimitive exactly what I’ve been telling my friends that don’t like the Supra just cause “iT’s a B-M-d0uBle U”. A lot more went into the cars than just parts sharing from the same platform.

@@Autogera By "parts sharing" you mean BMW parts shared with Toyota, right? Because there are ZERO Toyota-made parts in the Supra except MAYBE the Toyota badge on it. The "Supra" IS simply a BMW that Toyota designed body panels for (which BMW actually MAKES) and "tuned" (suspension tuning and engine/transmission management software tweaking)

LOL! The Supra absolutely IS a BMW. The platform was designed 100% by BMW, it has a 100% BMW drivetrain (well a German ZF transmission - as all BMWs - and NO Toyotas - do), and it rolls off a BMW assembly line right alongside the Z4 at the Magna Steyr plant in Graz Austria. There are ZERO Toyota-built parts in the car except MAYBE the Toyota badge. All Toyota did was design the exterior body panels and tweak the shock damping & spring rates and some of the transmission control software. It's hilarious that the "Supra" gets the old BMW stuff inside while the Z4 gets their newer stuff. Toyota should be embarrassed they they don't build their own halo car. ...and I'm A Toyota FAN, BTW... not a hater. I'm just very disappointed in the BMW "Supra".

My best friend's father bought a brand new 1st gen Supra back in 1978. It's refinement and sophistication was a revelation compared to other cars of the time. It's styling was attractive, but not "in your face". The 2nd gen Supra was much more aggressive looking and an improvement in my opinion. The 3rd gen Supra was even better, looking a bit like a Porsche 944. A friend's mother had one, and I loved it. Then came the legendary MK IV Supra. I can clearly remember the first time I laid eyes on one in 1993. I was aghast. It looked like a misshapen, partially used bar of soap. Just nasty. Which brings us to the latest Supra. The only word I think accurately captures it's outward appearance is: horrific. Grotesquely over styled with odd proportions, it is literally one of the ugliest new cars currently on sale. I only say "one of the ugliest" because there might be something nastier out there that I'm not aware of.
