i'm a tomboy lesbian and NEVER wear makeup. it just doesn't go with my 'aesthetic'. but recently, after looking at instagram influencers like brittenelle fredericks, i can see that i can be feminine while also looking quite masculine at the same time. i ALWAYS get mistaken for a guy. forever people have been addressing me as "sir" - "mister" - "lad" - and i don't blame them. i bring it upon myself because i never wear makeup or 'feminine clothes' (my style is simple: tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie, all black) my mum has always said "if you're annoyed at people mistaking you for a boy, wear subtle makeup, wear feminine clothes" and i never listen. but i feel like i want to start expressing my feminine side as well as my masculine. i've been looking for a 'tomboy' makeup tutorial and i can't find any, but this video might help. thank you!

My version: skip primer, skip foundation. Use some consealer to cover dark circles, shape the brows and pop some mascara. If I feel fancy, I use some bronzer as contour (I'm super white soo it works well) amd boom we are done, time taken: 2mins. Oh and the lip balm, don't forget that

I used to skip primer because I thought it doesn't make a difference. Now I use primer daily. It really has helped my makeup gilde on and stay on. But if you dont have time, I have found the most important thing I have found it to moisturize, moisturize moisturize! Get a moisture that is suitable for your skin type. Also less is more. I have learned over the years to moisturize and avoid globbing on layer after layer.

I just want to say that I have been using your make-up tutorial for over 2 years now and I love it! I love how natural it looks. It doesn't look caked on, but it makes me look healthy and beautiful without exaggerating my appearance (or making me look waaaaaaay different than no mak-up me). This is a great video! I'm at the point where I need foundation daily (thank you, being over 40 and mask wearing!) and I realized I would walk around like a Vampire without blush (somehow told myself it was old fashioned, I guess being a teen in the 90's?). I've never used blush, contour, highlighter.... I will say, this is a great rush makeup job but if you are taking a train you can do/finish your make up there! One of my friends watched in awe as a woman used eyeliner around her ENTIRE eye while on a moving NYC subway. I think we would all bow down to that awesomeness. But these are great tips for a starting point.

I have really long eyelashes and I wear glasses so I’ve found through experience that if nothing else (which is ALL THE TIME) I like to curl my eyelashes and put a little mascara on-that’s it. It actually helps keep the oils and such from smudging my glasses, which in turn means I don’t have to keep cleaning them! But I enjoyed watching this anyway so I have a refresher for when I do put more makeup on.

My go to make up for work (outdoors, physically heavy work): a lightweight face cream, mix a small amout of foundation and concealer and blend underneath my eyes, eyebrow pencil for brows, lip balm, mascara and if feeling fancy, some bronzer and a settle eyeliner. Normally takes 3 mins for me.
