If I want the bot to send an outreach message instead, if use the "tag added" instead of the "customer replied", will it send an outreach message like before the update? I a doing cold outreach btw.

Yes. Are you wanting it to generate a different message for each contact for cold outreach or are you sending an SMS or email via a workflow while doing Cold Outreach? -- With the new always aware feature, you can use a workflow to send an SMS to your cold outreach list of contacts and when they reply, the bot will already have context of the initial message that prompted the response.
